how do you post a pic

i see people tossing pics in their posts - how do you do this?
the pics i would paste i get from my hardrive..or i get them from the internet and save on my hardrive.

You must have the pic on the web. It must be hosted.

Then you take the exact address of the pic, and put it in place of the address in the text that comes up when you hit the image button in the Quick HTML area of the reply screen.

An Image address will end in an image file suffix such as .jpeg or .gif.

how do you get a "webpage" for hosting these pics. Is it free?
I have a webpage ( you can see in my profile). if i added say..a pic just to post here, i would only want the pic on the webpage for the 30 seconds it takes to post the pic for the joke here. How on my webpage would i isolate just that pic? and wouldnt that kill my nicely laid out webpage just to post a funny pic in a thread.

My band, Unhallowed has a website too. I just made a page not linked to anything to support my sigs and my joke pics. I suggest you do this as well.

Then, just get the address from that new page in your posts.

Macs seem to have a problem with the format of the website's page. They do not have problems posting pictures.

Get a website if you don't already have one. (Homestead has a free version that provides one or maybe two pages)
Create a new page on the site.
Put the picture on the page.
Click the "Image" button.
Substitue "http://www.theaddress.com" with the address of your website with the picture.
