A show like "You Can't Do That on TV" had jumped the shark by the end of it's run, so that doesn't count. That's like counting Cheers. Both were great but both went out when they should have.

And Mr. Show was great too, but I think that was meant to have a short run and was quite effective as it was(always go out on top). Nothing wrong with a short run. Look at Fawlty Towers, probably the greatest sitcom ever. But it was helped because it only ran 20 episodes, which was 12 more than Cleese ever intended. Imagine if Cheers, Seinfeld, or All in the Family were limited to their top 20, you'd have amazing stuff there.

And those saying the State and UCB, the truly American sketch comedy show(2nd only to Python in my book) and I can't believe it's not mentioned yet. "The Ben Stiller Show". Simply brillant, and it's so terrible that Fox in 1992 could cancel it, given the crap they were putting out(The Heights, Hermans Head, etc) Stiller, Janene Garafalo(when she was funny), Andy Dick and Bob Odenkirk(of Mr. Show) and some of the most innovative stuff(clear precursor to Mr. Show with the transitions, which were stolen from Python).

And my personal favorite show(which apparently wasn't very good, based on people I talked to and the fact it looks DOA) was 3 South. The college cartoon had slow sports, but it made me laugh out loud being a Rowan graduate. I think the writer of this show lived in my dorm room.

No way this show should have been cancelled after just one season.

Also, don't know if anyone has mentioned it: "Cupid" with Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall. Really good romantic comedy, it only lasted half a season.

Based upon the "Vampire: The Masquerade" RPG published by White Wolf, which...*cough* I've had some experience with. *coughcough*

I thought the show was sort of interesting, but it wasn't really anything half as cool as the original source material. Unless they planned a whole "Gehenna" plotline on us, in which case the antediluvians would awaken and pretty much systematically eliminate every living and undead thing upon the earth......unless the leeches persuaded the Technocracy to neutralize them with solar mirrors......oops, I sort of got into a "Time of Thin Blood" vibe. Ignore me.
