A Familiar Voice On Blink

And no... it wasn't Earl. I called Blink's request line
(877-692-1027) to scream "RON & FEZ NOOOWWW!!!"
into the screener's ear, and while I was on hold, they
played live audio of the station. Suddenly I heard a
quick Blockbuster spot, and depressing memories ran
through my mind... the reader of the Blockbuster commercial
was undoubtedly the familiar voice of Martini Steve (the
guy who did almost all of WNEW's reads). So, is he still
working at 'NEW? Or are they just recycling old spots from
the Talk Format days?

That has got to be the biggest, most pointless waste of time I have ever seen in my entire life. Is your daily routine without such a point that you have to harass a screener making 8 bucks an hour because you don't have your precious Ron and Fez?

Like that screener has a direct line to Sykes, Karmazin, or Redstone?

I have said it before and I'll say it again. Infinity bent over fucking backwards to give R&F every chance to succeed in DC. Simulcast, allowing them to telecommute from NYC to DC on a regular basis, letting them grow their audience, etc.

NO OTHER PERSONALITY ON WNEW WAS AFFORDED THIS LUXURY. Not any of the sports guys, not Leslie Gold, not Leykis, not Don and Mike.

If you have nothing better to do than go apeshit over this situation, why don't you put that energy into doing something positive and MOVE TO DC so you can listen to them?

Not often that I agree with Tenbats, but he's making perfect sense here.

I also find it humorous that some people just can't get it through their minds that the show is gone. Gone now, gone forever. Infinity spent millions of dollars to morph WNEW into "Blink". They are not going to just drop it now to put one talk show back on that got marginal ratings to begin with.

But on the otherhand, if you think that R&F would fit in at Blink, or would even want to, then you are somewhat slow.

feel slightly cooler or something to that effect), this is
not how I spend my days. I've never called Blink before
today, and I don't plan to call again. But when you
have 10 minutes to burn, it's a fun thing to do. Will it
bring back Ron & Fez? ABSOLUTELY NOT. NEVER SAID
IT WOULD.
Tazz-I'm disappointed that you would seriously assume
that I think Infinity's gonna put Ron & Fez on Blink.
That's absurd.

So anyway... I HEARD MARTINI STEVE'S VOICE ON
THE AIR...
