How Would You Sell the Show?

Infinity doesn't do a very good job of marketing their talk radio shows, but now that they're on JFK, R&F seem to be getting at least a little more of a promotional push than they got from WNEW (which was pretty much nonexistent). Obviously, it would be nice to see a bigger push. If R&F were suddenly give a bigger marketing budget, and you were in charge, how would you sell the show?

"Get the product out there"!! In other words, speaking from my experience in retail and restuarants as a saleslady, allow more public appearances such as roadshows, and informal appearances where listeners mingle with the on air personalities and their crews in a casual setting!! If the personalities wanted to do something in other forms of the media such as needing recording studio space, encourage it with the financial backing needed to carry on the project to the end. In other words, promote the Show with as much exposure as possible incorporating advertising, media, and appearances so that more people are made aware!!!

Another thought I had was to get some Ron and Fez stickers made and put them up all over the DC area, sort of like the bathroom inspection stickers but these would be more generic so they could be put up anywhere like telephone poles and the like. Another one: Ron and Fez cocktail napkins, to be distributed to bars in the area for free if they agree to use them.

edited to note that it would be great to get a grass-roots effort to get stickers like this posted all over DC/MD/VA, but judging from the response to this thread http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=46&Topic=27550&RequestTimeout=50, there doesn't appear to be a huge DC board contingent.

Unfortunately, that seems to be true but thats exactly why the few and the proud need to get the word out, the fact is most people in DC have never heard of Ron and Fez, that has to change. Even if they don't listen, people should be aware that the show exists.

Try to get them on "reality" T.V. somehow. Imagine seeing Ron or Fez on Survivor, Big Brother (is this still on?), Fear Factor, etc.

Have them go to any sporting event and one of them run into the field with the other one chasing them. (any negative press is good press).

Get some religious fanatic to protest the Ron and Fez show. People would be curious as to what is so morally wrong about the show. (Have Fez stand on his head imitating Spong Bob or something).

Have a contest called "Where's Fezzie?", where people try to locate him via clues from around the country.

Well on a serious note, I sent on of the promotion people an email to make sure once WJFK finally has a website to make sure they add a link for ronfez.net. She agreed and will pass my email to Cameron. Ron was talking about creating some sort of bumper sticker the other night. I did not get to hear the whole show, but I am sure Fluffernutter would do a great job with that task.



We need everyone to keep spreading the word about Ron and Fez. Get you friends, coworkers, hell anyone you talk to get them to listen.
