So I smoke.

Cigarettes you f's.

I know it is bad for me and I know how great I feel when I do not smoke but after week after week of not smoking I figure, What the hell, I will buy a pack. So many times over the last few months I have dropped so much cash on smokes, albeit 2 packs a week but I only smoke 3 or 4 get pissed and punch and beat up the pack and then throw them out BUT I still go back.

Why?

What is it that makes me go back to the ciarettes even though I know they hurt me and I really want to be free of the poison that they inject into my lungs.

At times even, I love to have the cigarette but I get the discomfort which is my body OBVIOUSLY telling me NO but I do it anyway.

What is the trigger?

I have seriously thought about the patch but I kicked smoking last summer for 5 months without it. Am I that weak willed? Have I no integrity or is this just something normal for anyone who wants to quit.

I have some dear close friends who have threatened to kill me for smoking and still I do it.

This is such a crutch for me and I am hoping for some helpful answers and advice here. And I know there HAS to be others who have been down this path before as well.

I eat donuts.

They're fried and the grease upsets my stomach, but I eat them anyway and am always sorry for it.

Why do I do it? I can't say. Usually it's because I feel down in the dumps and donuts are a comfort food.

I have also smoked cigarettes and have, thankfully, kicked the habit.

While a smoker, I loathed the habit but kept it up out of boredom and easy access to cigarettes. . . living at college will do that to you. Of course, I started smoking because I'd just had a really BAD breakup with a guy and I missed the way he smelled & tasted - like Camel filters - so I started smoking them. Having been around him (and his chain-smoking parents) for nearly a year, my lungs were already clogged and cluttered with the second-hand smoke so I hardly felt it. But still I loathed the habit. Which I successfully kicked when I went home for Christmas.

I guess part of my success is that I really hated doing it AND I found more constructive uses of my time. I also started therapy to work past the unresolved issues remaining from the breakup, so I believe this to have helped immensely. You may want to figure out why you smoke and then plan how you're not going to do it. This may mean taking up a new hobby, starting a workout program or even starting therapy, like I did, but you will find something that works for you. Good luck!

I kicked the Nicotine habit.(for now) Still have quite the fancy for alcohol. With the amount of red wine I drink my heart should be pumping until 2163. I'd live healthier, but who wants to be a 105 year old Russian eating yogurt in St. Petersburg.

I also eat lots of candy in huge portions no less. I'll go on a candy binge like once every two weeks.

I smoke way too many cigarettes and I've been smoking for too long, I have absolutely no desire to quit, even though I know it's horribly bad for me and it makes me cough and hack up gross stuff when I'm sick. I did stop smoking Marlboro reds and went down to ultralights 2 years ago.

I'm incredibly lazy and don't exercise in the slightest bit - this I have been trying to fix lately with minor success

My eating habits are reprehensible. I survive off of tv dinners, hamburger meat and cellantano ravioli.

I drink way too much alcohol.

My rationalization for all of this is I'm young and should be enjoying myself now before I get old and gross.

I smoke - cigs and cheeba - although I'm currently trying again to quit (cigs), it's been 2 days. And me quitting usually means bumming off of people until I realize I haven't quit then I start again.

Also, what Missy said, it pretty much describes me too. I'm going to enjoy being young and getting away with this while I can, I know it's only gonna get worse.

I do the s&m thing (not nearly as much as i used to) and it couldn't possibly be good to bound tightly with ropes cuffs and clamps on my nipples and gentals but hey its like the cocaine of sex. highly euphoric but short lasting leaving me unfufilled and jittery. also i don't know how clean these dungeon rooms with naked people crawling around in could really be. people get infections in operating rooms and there supposed to be sterile!
