It all depends what you like, where you are staying, what type of transportation do you have, and remember the bars in DC close early like 1:30 -2am last call.

The best fucking club in DC is easily Zeigfields. But a close second is most definatley Allegro. But, remember that all the clubs close early you wann hit them around 11

I've only been to DC twice, but I went to a club while I was there.

I don't know if you like Hip Hop/Techno?Reggae but there's a club called VIP that has 4 different levels of music. It was pretty cool.

Downtown I prefer more "lounge-y" type places like Red, Dragonfly and the 18th Street Lounge...for musical venues, I like smaller joints like The Black Cat and The 9:30 Club...

If you want loud, busy, NYC-style bars, just head right for Adam's Morgan and take your pick.
