Why Ron and Fez Rock

I was lucky enough to be able to catch the show live this week, and i was so psyched, and it made me realize how much I miss the guys in NY.

So, I'm listening live, first time since January, and frustrated because the phones are busy and there's no instant feedback and theyre playing the coolest Johnny Cash song EVER, so I email them to just say hello...

...and Ron just gave me a shout out and plugged my site.

He didn't have to; didn't need to, but R+F did; and it shows they Rock. Amazing. They've been tossed around the clock and the dial so much I'm amazed they don't catch them selves saying the wrong call letters. But they Care, and that's why R+F rock. To the single fan, they will accomodate you.

I miss these guys like hell. Radio here literally is unlistenable these days. I miss standing in line outside the Hard Rock, knowing inside will be the coolest fans of the coolest radio team on the planet. And the hottest ladies the Big Apple has to offer. Schwing!

Ron Bennington is one awesome guy, and Fez may well be the fastest thinking man ever, and theyre so frigging selfless and they Gotta learn to take a compliment and at least Lawrence Has Got Guts! And Guts Is Enough!

Oh wait, I went into Full Metal Jacket mode on this Rant!

Us dedicated D.C. listeners had to listen to Ron and Fez for years on delay. There was so many times that I wished I could call in or send I.F. and I couldn't. When i heard R&F live for the first time live, I was so happy I could shit! i wish the new york listeners could enjoy it still. They were some of the best callers and guests. Ron and fez is the best damn radio show EVER!

They rock cause they let smucks like me on the air for an alotted 15-30 seconds.

I remeber it was around this time i was mentioned for the first time on Ron and Fez. I had an SU Feed and they did a bit about Rosie O'Donnel being banned from places. I said she had been banned from Ol Country Buffet. Unfourtenatley they only said DC, but not DC Reed, but it floored me my joke got on the air.

I grew up in jersey, and moved to DC after college to work at a think tank for a few years. when i moved back to hoboken, i started to listen to ron and fez after o&a. it took a while before i really got into them. i remember the first time i ever REALLY listened... it was on a trip to atlantic city - started listening at 7 as i hit the turnpike, and, by the time i started to lose the signal, i pulled over at the molly pitcher service area and sat and listened till the show ended.

from that day forward, i was addicted. its hard to pin down exactly what it is about them - i think that for most they are an aquired taste - the turnips of radio if you will.

in person they are great. i work with "celebrities" and have dealt with some shockingly arrogant people on the hill and in nyc. these guys are different. kool and the gang as ron would say. whether its in the studio, in a bar, or online, they are like down to earth and tons of fun. (when billy is around it literally is tons of fun).

it may take a while for the guys to get back here, but i am confident that they will. its no accident that they have trekkie-like devotion from fans - they inspire it just by being themselves.

ron, fez - stay gold pony boys. stay gold.

i wish ron and fez were stilll in ny. I live in Maryland and im so glad that they are live but i honestly think that the new york callers are so much better then they are here. and plus they had sheepie!
