I work in a pet store, and we have(had) the world's greatest cat here. I open the store this morning, waiting for my big 'MEOW!' greeting I get every day and she's gone!!!! The dumb bitch that closed last night either left the door open or let someone steal her. I AM A MESS. I loved this cat more than anything, and I'm sitting here like a fool crying and trying to help customers at the same time. Personally, I don't really care that your prize poodle has tear stains on its freaking face or that you dog won't eat any dog food because you're feeding it table scraps all the time. How do you find a lost cat? Anyone else lose a pet this way? And if so, were you a crying mess like I am or am I nuts? Thank you for your time.

One time I lost my cat and my friend Greg found it for me. But it turns out he didnt really find my cat, he bought one that looks like my cat and just spray painted the tail of the OTHER cat to make it look like my cat.
I found out about Greg's shenanigans when my next door neighbor called me and told me my cat wondered over to his house.
Now me and Greg aren't friends.

Maybe it is time to get out of the pet business!!

I wish you luck. My Blixa got out a few months ago and I was a wreck. She knows where the food is and she should come back. Leave a bowl of food out for her. She may have just gone out exploring. Good luck.

My cat Otis went AWOL twice. The first time I was a wreck. I put up flyers and searched the neighborhood every night until it got too dark. He came home when he got hungry.
Second time I was just annoyed at the little dumbass.
I think she'll come back. They know when they have it good.

Take some of the cats things, like a favorite blanket, and drag it around the perimeter of the store. Also get some shrimp and tuna and make a trail around the building. It may take a few days, and a few cans of shrimp & tuna, but it WILL work. My cat came back after 3 days

Sorry to hear about your pussy.
I thought my cat bought the farm last week. I woke up and found cat hair on the front step and he was gone. I vowed to shoot the cat that did it cause I had seen hime a few nights before. As I was making this blood pact, old Charles walked down the driveway. A lil sore but not bad overall.
Your cat will come back. Just leave some food by the door and keep an eye out for it.

My cat D.C. went missing once when i was a child. I found him a few blocks from my house. he had frozen to death. he ran away the night before a Nor'easter.
Leave food for him, he'll come back.

i had mistakingly left the door to the garage open along with the garage door and that evening we realized the youngest cat(5 months) had gotten out... we had a tremendous rainstorm that night and i was out with a flashlight checking around all the shrubs, under cars, and in neighbors yards. You try and make the sounds with your mouth that usually get their attention but i had no luck.
The next morning my daughters made flyers, posted them on our block and maybe a block away.
I then re-checked under the shrubs and there she was, cuddled up...
sniff, sniff "please excuse me"

I had a cat take off for about two months. One day he just showed up again. I had another that got locked in my shed for about a week and it was damn near dead when I found it. That was about five years ago and it's still alive.

HA! Kitty is back!!! You guys were right. I stopped by the store on my way home last night around midnight to take another look around. My boss left the basement door open for her and I said 'meow?' and I hear her very faintly say 'meow' back at me! I was so happy to see her and I told her how upset I was at her. Bad kitty. My pussy is happy now. :)

Congratulations! But now you have to keep an eye on her. Once a cat gets a taste of freedom they develop "wander lust." Otis thinks he can handle the "mean streets" of Jersey City now. Ha!
