View Full Version : I'm a-peeling

I guess I got too much sun, even for my guinea hide. Now comes the post-atomic peel. There's something strangely pleasing about it, though. Kinda like what I think molting would feel like.
I hope the new me has wings.

Yuck. I hate peeling but it's oddly addicting once I pull some skin off. I feel like Goldmember.
I am really pale and burn easy so I don't lay out that much but the worst I've ever been burnt was in Venezuela. I packed on the sun block but it was no match for that sun. I think every piece of skin from my face to my shoulders peeled off. Even my back and legs. Eww.

I LOVE to peel! I'm not a peeler, but fortunately, Jon is. He's still peeling from the softball game in June. I've been in heaven.

When I went to Mexico 6 years ago I got a crew cut right before I left. Stupid me didn't realize that my scalp probably hadn't seen sun for 15 years. My entire head got sunburned. On the flight home I was able to peel a 6" x 6" patch of skin right off of the top of my head. Gross but satisfying.
I haven't gotten a bad burn this summer except for my preventive first burn and I didn't peel that much except for my shoulder area.

I got a real nasty burn sailing on the Chesapeake Bay earlier this year.
The entire top layer of my skin came off in, oh, 3 or 4 sheets; except the part between my ass cheeks, which got shaded.

I use sunblock and still burn too cute, I'm more pale then Casper.
And who would think to put sunblock on your scalp when you still had some hair?

I am pretty pale, but I never use sun screen. I usually go outside in the late day, when the sun isnt that bad.

Ditto. It's not like I want skin cancer. I'm very careful when I'm in the sun.

Hmmmm, I think I have the answer. Me and Aggie need to slather each other with sunscreen nonstop whenever the sun is out.
I already think I have some melanoma.

The sad thing about the title of this thread is that I thought of doing the exact same thing but thought it was too corny.

I've been wearing a minimum of SPF 15 everyday since 1994.
When I was a kid (70s and 80s), getting a tan was the rage. I'm very fair and, well, I just hated the sun! Sure, I'd get made fun of for being pasty, but my dad (who was always way aheadof his time would say, "Let them laugh when they're older-- they'll have skin like leather!"
I'm 36 and I still get proofed.

The only thing I got out of it was that by combining the 2 words Moe and Sun, you'd get a word that sounds like Moan.
And fix you sigpic nickeye. It's a red box with some alt text to me.
