I admit I'm amused, but that's only because I don't live in Califonia.
But how can this make you happy? Do you have something against California? Or is this one of those "stick it to the liberals" situations?

[font=Century Gothic][color=navy][size=2]I admit I'm amused, but that's only because I don't live in Califonia.
But how can this make you happy?
Because now the recall election will be fun. Much more fun than just having Larry Flynt out there running. And I always get a kick out of celebrities running for public office.
Do you have something against California?
No.
But you act as if Arnold can do a worse job than Davis.
He can't. It's just NOT possible.
Davis is THAT bad.
I don't think you have any personal experience working in politics, but I'm 100% confident that you could personally walk in off the street and do a better job running CA than Davis.
Or is this one of those "stick it to the liberals" situations?
I know several die-hard CA liberals who hate Davis with a passion.
It's not a partisan thing, although I'm amused that Arnold is a Republican. If he was a Democrat, I'd still be incredibly happy he was running.
Look, Davis is just awful and needs to go. At the least, if you're gonna get rid of him, make the new election fun!

I read your reply, Se7en, and I guess I agree. This will be a lot of fun, and I'm sure we'll be hearing more of Arnold's sexcapades, especially with Flint in the race.
I still think it would be a horrible thing if he gets elected, though. At least Ventura had experience. Frankly, I think the person most pissed off right now is Darrell Issa, the guy who funded the recall and hoped to be elected.

I suppose Carl Weathers would be next to run for governor of a state since half the cast of "Predator" has entered politics.

I predict Schwarzenegger will be president in 2012. I'll fight against it with everything I've got, but it can't be bargained with! It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever

I predict Schwarzenegger will be president in 2012.
He was born in Austria. So they'd have to amend the consitiution to allow him to run for Pres.
I think he would do a much better job than our current president. He can speak better at least (isn't that weird?)

Schwarzenegger is not going to be afraid to ask the tough questions, like "Who is your Daddy, and what does he do?"

The idea of celebrity elected officials seems very disturbing to me. The message they send out is that "I have no prior experience, or any kind legitimate skill for this job but elect me anyway". This seems like a cheap novelty act like when actors try to singers or when ball players try to be rappers.
Even more disturbing is in California this whole recall thing. You can't just yell "do over" and take a person who was elected into office and have them removed mid term. If the people don't like the job he is doing midstream then maybe more people should have voted or not voted for him in the first place. Bottomline he won the election fair and square.

I guess I should follow news more closely. R&F's show is where I get about 80% of my news:
Why is there a Recall in CA? Who started this? Did the Governor do something specific or did some feel he just wasn't up to the job.
Arnold hasn't served a public office, but he has been a good buisness man

I blame Sly for fucking up Planet Hollywood
If he actully does something when elected (Notice I didn't say If- My personal Radio Psychic) and doesn't just keep filming Bad Terminator Movies without James Camerons help, He'd make a decent Governor.

1. HOW is this any different than any other celebrity acitivist? Actually running for office doesn't make you any less annoying...or less wrong.
2. HOW is this man a Republican again? That's like saying Joe Lieberman is a liberal fanatic.
3. Gray Davis is a thug and barely a step above being a crime boss.
4. I like the idea of a recall, but something seems out of control here. With the amount of people running (You need, what $3,000 and 65 signatures? Yeesh) there are talks of candidates being able to win with less than 20% of the votes.
5. No matter WHO had been running, is running, or will be running California, that state will remain a financial disaster area, and I pity ANYONE who's going to try and run it from here on out.
6. First person to compare him to Reagan gets a napkin full of salt shakers to the back of the head.

You mean from this point on? I've heard him compared to Reagon about 6-7 billion times since Arnold first started talking about running.
The only thing they have in common are being in films and running for governor of the same state.
Where does Carl Weathers live? If it's another state, he better start his "Predator" campaign fast.

i think you're all missing the point of this election. This is in reality, phase two in an attempt to get every cast member of the movie Predator elected to office.

You can(and should) if they're corrupt or in this case, the worst Governor ever...

Here's what we need to avoid situations like this, and hopefully get some better political candidates...
Add a "none of the above" box.
If a majority chooses that, a second election will be held. New candidates can be offered, or the same ones can run, but in theory they'd then modify their campaigns to more appease the people.
Of course, if people like the sitting elected official, then they'll just vote "none of the above" to keep him in office. And you can't appoint an interim leader, because he wouldn't be elected. Maybe limit the number of "do-overs"?

Oh, I'm down with that plan.
Except for Sonny Landham, that guy's a prick.
Oh and Hbox, I don't cry for Issa. There's something mighty shifty about that guy.
