I was at Target last night, buying DVD's. I wandered into the cd section and saw something that really pissed me off. It was a Best of cd of the Police. Basicly all of their radio singles. But it was the title thar got me. "Best of Sting and The Police".
Do we really need to be told that Sting was the front man for The Police?

I was driving home on Sunday and they played Every Breath You Take. The DJ came on and said, "That was Sting and The Police..."
Drives me nuts!

Probably not as much as it does Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland.

I'd be more than happy to console Stewart Copeland! :p

There was a series of bootlegs of Rolling Stones concerts titled:
"Charlie Watts and His Fabulous Rolling Stones"
"Bill Wyman and...."
"Keith Richards and..."
but no Mick.

Hate to be bursting of the bubbles here, BUT...unless the CD you saw was THIS one...
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000088NSZ.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
...then the collections you saw are called "The Best of Sting & The Police" because they're compilations that have both the greatest hits of The Police AND Sting's solo career.
Observe...

2. Can't Stand Losing You - The Police
3. An Englishman In New York
4. Every Breath You Take - The Police
5. Walking on the Moon - The Police
6. Fields of Gold - Sting
7. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - The Police
8. If You Love Somebody Set Them Free - Sting
9. Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot [Edit] - Sting
10. Russians - Sting

14. Roxanne
15. Roxan '97 (Puff Daddy Remix)
You'll notice that each album has a number of solo Sting songs that he put out AFTER The Police had broken up, so the title is completely accurate.
