I displace items

Sometimes, while shopping, I will notice a products packaging and realise it looks very similar to another product. Example? I was in walmart and saw a can of Folgers coffee, and later saw a large can of Lava hand cleaner in the automotive isle, and realised they were practically identical in shape, color and even word color. What I do is, I will bring a can of Lava and put in on the shelf next to the Folgers. I also sometimes do similar misplacements with other items. I dont necessarily do it to confuse another customer, but for the sake of giving a chuckle to the guy who arranges the shelf after hours. I imagine he will be like...what the fuuucckk....???

Alright let me rephrase.

When i have to return items to their original location in the store i leave with a shopping cart full of these items in which i must return. If i see a misplaced item i must put it back where it originally belongs, but then instead i bring it back to where the other items i have to return are because its pointless to take 15 trips to Aisle 5

I do this all the time, you'd think we were related or something.

Plus it IS a riot. For anyone who'se upset because it means you have to re-stock the shelves you're insane. Just the fact that you have to re-stock the shelves means the very essence of the need for your job. If everything was put on the shelves exactly where they were, there would be no need for you. By displacing items you give the shelve stocker job security. If anything ,people who displace items should be thanked by those who stock the shelves.

I never understand this logic. I once worked in Borders books and the people I worked with would always complain because people would place books all over the store (just as I do) and they'd bitch about it all day. When I made the point that by having to restock the shelves meant the very need for their jobs it made it clear to them that it was actually a good thing. Complain about it all you want, but it means the need for your position.

wait a minute. how is that relivent? your throwing restocking shelves in there when that line was originally used in a school related post.

I'm a cashier, i do returns.

Returns are when people get to the registers and then after the total comes up say they don't want an item and its voided off the total. those items are then put back where they are from and all displaced items are taken back to their original spots.

I can see if its done in the same aisle but if your doing a cross-store displacement, thats fucked up.

Well Todd, I see it as very relevant. Aside from that fact that as Reffdwella pointed out that it justifies your weekly paycheck. Its also in context to my little personal jibe at you, which I dont mean as an attack at all, because I do find you to be remarkably well read for someone in your position, but it went along cenceptually with the attitude displayed in the other thread ie; not wanting to be expected to do stuff thats required of you from time to time.
