KEEPING THE FAITH: Ron and Fez were the last hosts purged from the WNEW-FM hot talk era, and ever since they left their fans have been trying to get some station to bring them back to town. Sure enough, on Friday night they will be here - doing a live remote from the Hard Rock Cafe for their current gig on WJFK in Washington.

The show starts at 7 and will feature live music by the Ron and Fez band, Crankcase. Gary Hansen of Brooklyn, one of the diehard fans, says other WNEW talk alumni also might be on hand.

Admission is free, though you have to be 21 or older to get in. The Hard Rock is at 221 W. 57th St.

Did ron and fez sign a new contract recently with WJFK . and if they did why? Why couldnt they find a station IN Ny to put them on. I can't see how a station IN NY with low ratings, would have love to have the Ron and Fez show. I know they miss Ny so much and they want to be back. I live IN Dc, and I did enjoy the Ny show more I would give up being able to listen to the show in DC for them to go back to Ny to be happy again, i would make over arrangments to listen to them with out a radio. I miss people like Hard Rock Johnny Eddie Trunk, black earl, stalker patty etc. i could go on , what do we got in DC. not much. NY is better , better fans maybe they're just waiting for O n A to return. just clear channel or Satelite radio. I know they must miss the old afro days so much. i do . i love when Anthony use to bust in on the show and join them. opie was great to , but anthony was king with them. Dc couldn't continue the good work NY started. DC had a chance to run with the ball, but they fumble

clsmlm,

I have no doubt that Ron and Fez would love to work in New York. They work for Infinity Broadcasting so they go where the work is. Infinity for whatever moronic reason decided to take them off of the New York radio airwaves and move the show to DC. Hopefully with time and enough letter writing and calls into Infinity's corporare offices, plus more and more positive news stories in the paper they may ultimately get their show broadcast back here to New York. From what I understand their DC ratings are good so hopefully that will be enough for them to get put on an Infinity radio station in New York. Either WXRK could air the show, or WNEW. We just gotta keep pushing the people with the power to reconsider and bring the show back to the New York airwaves.

Yeah I don't understand. For awhile we could listen in DC and New York and then NYC just shut down. They really need to get that going again.

Wow! I was having a grappa at the bar at Coco Pazzo in NYC, reading Corriere della Sera to check their re-cap of the Inter-Brescia game, and saw the above!

They must get their stuff from The Daily News or something (great job Gary), but it's hilarious that the Italians included more information than a NY paper. Maybe the live feeds are getting picked up across the Atlantic. I love it!

Funny how they wrote "Fes" instead of "Fez." But "Billy Grasso" means "Fat Billy", so the Italians must be a little behind. If Billy doesn't hit it big in the USA, he should consider heading to Milan and being to Italy what Jerry Lewis is to the French.

The killer: Death Metal Moe. When YOU make it big and play Italy, you're going to be Metallo Moe di Morte. I love it!

Oh, and there is an Italian word for Chairman, but why they referred to me by the name of a cheap Dominican beer is weird. Silera, you know what to call me now. Hey, it's press, I'll take it!

Holy SHIT. I'm in print again? Dizzam! but in ITALY?!?! Dude, I HATE when we'd get reviews and interviews in foreign mags, just because we can't read them! We read them, hoping that we can pick up SOME idea of the tone of our piece. It's frustrating!

That name does sound cooler in Italian. Metallo Moe di Morte. That is so kewl. I'm trans-Atlantic BIATCH!

Can I change my screen name again?

Well to be honest, it doesn't matter to me. There's pockets of Death Metal fans all over the world, so ANY exposure is good.

And anyway, this is Death Metal Moe exposure, not Unhallowed exposure. So it's totally selfish on my part! That's why my ego loves it.

There is no Infinity station in NY that is "Talk" anymore. Obviously, Infinity values R&F if they are in DC, it's just that they realized that Ron & Fez could not carry a station the way O&A did. I'd love to see Ron & Fez return to New York, but in order for that to happen, there would have to be a talk station established. That being said, write some letters to that dude Heckler was talking about.

Thats not true. It does not have to be a talk station. Stern has flourished for years on Rock stations.Furthermore, so have other notable comedy talk shows such as the Greaseman who used to be on K-Rok and still syndicates and Rocky Allen who used to be on WPLJ.
