I can't keep this double life going anymore. It is too stressful.

I saw all the shock posters coming on and I wanted to see what was so great about it. It was fun for a while but now I'm tired of it.

What I've learned:
Despite our protests, a lot of us like shock posters because they give us something to talk about. We like talking down and making fun of people, especially new people. Shock_poster probably would have died earlier but people kept replying to my threads.

My advice for general membership if you really don't like shock posters. Ignore them. Replying (even insultingly, especially insultingly) just feeds the machine.

I don't think anyone thought you were new to the board... well, at least I didn't. Your modus operandi said, "I'm someone on the board who wants to make a point about 'shock posters,' but not go over the top." If you want to be more clandestine, you should go with a more realistic, yet shocking, name such as "<b>I_hate_Fez</b>," and make a few egregious mistakes.

Sure, it's fun to tool on stupid posters, but I prefer to ignore them. I don't think I responded to any of the "shock_poster" threads, partly because "shocking" threads don't interest me, but mainly because I saw through the intended ruse.

A shock poster is someone who starts threads like "I love Don and Mike!!!!!!!!!". A shock poster is not necessarilly someone who posts 70 times over the cousre of a few days.
