OK, so I have a Zippo lighter that I've carried with me for a many years now. Since I don't smoke cigs, I only use it for lighting insence in the car and the occasional cigar. I think more people have borrowed it than I have used it.

As you know, those lighters require lighter fluid. So I fill it up every few days when it's not lighting up. But it seems that EVERY FUCKING TIME I do this, I forget to stop before it's full. So there it is, sitting in my pocket all day, and the excess fluid leaks out through my pocket and gets my leg.

So great. Now I have a red mark where my skin was irritated by the lighter fluid.

Lighter Rash.

Moe, mah bruvvah, I been there. I used to fall asleep on my side with my Zippo in my pocket after school, and every time I would wake up with the red square. As far as I know there's nothing you can do other than ride it out.

If I overfill my Zippo, I light it and let it burn for a minute to get rid of the excess. It seems to work since I haven't gotten any lighter leakage/rashes.
