About 10 years ago I went out with some friends to a very expensive Japanese restaurant to get sushi. During dinner my friend Chris says to me to order this thing called an "Ooni" (I believe that's how it's spelled). It was a raw sea urchin covered with a raw quail egg. If I ordered and ate this thing that he'd buy me dinner. I felt daring so I tried it. It was the nastiest thing I've ever eaten in my life. Dinner was free but god was that nasty.

Sometimes I'll see folks eating really freaky stuff like on Fear Factor or something weird like Richard Dreyfus eating a PB&J and eggs sandwhich in the movie Stakeout.

What's the weirdest or nastiest thing you've ever eaten?

When I used to work at The Perk as a dishasher, my friends would come by late at night and we would make "Nasty" Burgers. We would take a 1/2 Pound of Hamburger and 2 sirloin steak (cheese steak) slabs and that would be the starters. We would then cook those up and warm a hoagle roll. Thenw e would gather together whatever kinds of cheese was on the menu fr the night. Mozzarella, American and Swiss would usually do the trick and we would have Parmesan available as well. Then we would fry up some onions, sweet and hot peppers and mushrooms for those who wanted them and then just put everything together with some ketchup, hot mustard and mayonaise. Essentially a heart attack on a bun. Those were damn good though.

One thing I also used to do back then was to eat whatever (burger, chicken, sandwich etc.) and then proceed to play "Who could be more gross?" with my friends and try to gross out others in the cafeteria at school. We would spit up the food as if it were vomit and then proceed to eat it again. Yes those days were gross as shit but the memories are so plentiful.

One night I was feeling adventurous while ordering sushi. I ordered the sea urchin (uni). Indeed, it was awful!

I had the Sea Urchin once and it was pretty bad. I also at Lamb Brains at Greek Easter and they were actually very good.

I don't know if this counts, but when I went out to a diner with my friends one time, I got baked clams with an egg cream. It freaked them out, so now I order that combination whenever I'm with them.

I was invited for dinner with a lovely gal from Tahiti.
This was on one of my trips to Paris.
Oh what a meal, but I had to stop asking what stuff was after the sea slug.
'Twas all quite delish, and she was a living doll...

When I was 12 I decided to get creative and put peanut butter, cream cheese, ketchup, grape jelly, mayo, and pickles all on a cracker.

I stopped trying to be creative after that one. Yuck.

well it might be common, but haggis is still pretty crazy to me. Sheep intestines cooked in a sheep's stomach i think? Good times. That and some turnips=a truly (disgusting) irish dinner.

well furie, at least you never streaked again. :)

i think i'd be scared if i was going out with a living doll. I'd always think that she was going to stab me in the back. And I could never look her in the eye......cause you know........she's got lifeless eyes, like a doll's eyes.......

Ive had rabbit, deer, and wild boar, and once, alligator. It was actually good! Like a mixture of pork and chicken. I had it down in Myrtle Beach in a Cajun resturant. My brother in law made the deer one night and it was fucking awesome! My friend hunts the wild Russian boar upstate NY at this place that guts it and chops it up and deep freezes it. The rabbit, I didnt know it was rabbit when I had it, it kind of reminded me of veal marsala. Im not into organ meats, but I hear that balogna is made of lungs! Though when I was a kid I use to like liverwhurst, now it grosses me out.

Giraffe at Carnivore restaurant in Kenya. It tasted like....steak.

That wasn't good?
Don't ever have a BBQ at your house and accept a dare to eat a slug. I put it in my mouth and it slimed me and I spit it out and for (seriously) a week I had this coating on my tongue like epoxy that wouldn't come off. I went to the dentist finally and he numbed it up and scraped it off. I'm sure Too Cute can explain it but I'd prefer not to know what actually happened.

I assassin down the avenue.

oh yeah, once i had caribou too. It tasted like a spicy chicken breast. It was pretty good.

Haggis i think is still crazier though. I know a ton of people who have obviously heard of it, but never actually eaten it. And for good reason. I guess that whole Baltic region just decided one day that anything should be eaten.
