Poopie and I are taking a trip to Mohegan Sun tomorrow. (Much rather do Vegas, but we can't afford it now). It's a very pretty casino. They also have a ton of shops and other activities there as well. I cannot wait to hit the black jack tables. What do you like to play?

The cheapest BJ tables at Mohegan Sun are $11...but that's pretty much during the morning/afternoon hours. They have what is called Blackjack Bonanza, where the minimum is $10, but you always have to put up an additional $1. The face cards and aces all have $ amounts on them ($10 - $2500). If you hit BJ and your hand has different dollar amounts, then you win an additional $5. If, however, you get matching dollar amounts, you'll win whatever you bet, plus whatever $ amount you have. I once got bj and won an additional $100. My stepfather hit $100 a few times. This sweet, old bag sitting next to me won $2500.

when i'm at the casinos i enjoy blackjack or roulette. if i'm playing cards against friends, any variation of poker will do. this year, my hand has been pretty hot for football.

but this is my first year back at the track in a couple of years, and i was nothing but money. spent a good amount of time at saratoga, and could turn a $2 long shot exacta into $80 plus. nothing to complex. i plan on spending my stir crazy days off this winter at the bar in a local otb. woo who.

I've only been to a casino once so far and spent most of the time on the black jack tables.

A friend told me a good way to play craps, so I'm gonna give that a shot.

I also like to play poker, so maybe I'll play some. We shall see.

try this at roullette....whatever color (red or black) comes up play for it to happen twice in a row....a lot of people play that if one comes up then the other one is due, bullshit, never works....but i have never seen it alternate red, black, red, black, etc. the whole way down. it will take some time to build up a lot of money but i've seen it work. So whatever comes up on the previous role play it to happen again. If its a green play for the one that came up before it.

My best gambling story:

On my one year sobriety birthday, Nov. 20, 1996, I go to Tahoe for some gambling and my best friend's wedding, (yes, in that order). I play blackjack for 5 or 6 hours and I'm up about $400. It's time to pack it in and head to the hotel, so I go to the roulette wheel to place the bet I planned before the trip: $50 on 11 and $50 on 20, (for 11/20 my sobriety birthdate). The table max was $25 so I walked up to the table, put $25 of 11 and $25 on 20, the wheel spins, hits the 20. They count out $875 to me. The couple with the long faces sitting at the table in front of me were pissed. They said, "did you just hit that number?" "Yep." And they began to argue about which one of them was the biggest loser. I whooped it up with my buddies on the way back to the hotel and slept like Walt Disney. I'll have seven years sober in two weeks.

My second best gambling story took place in Monacco and involves two Swedish girls, two Australian girls, a Ferrari Testarossa and more winnings.

Overall, I'm still down to the casinos. But I fucking love to gamble.

In Montreal they have a casino with electronic horses which is essentially a Sega Genesis style of graphics with plastic horses in the middle that race around a simulated track. The game requires only 25 cents to play, but was a lot of fun as I am not a hardcore gambler and loved to kill my time there. I actually walked out up 50 dollars cause of this horse game.

It's weird, I'm less then 90 mins. from the most awesome Trump Taj [yes the place is also a cliche, but it does indeed have the action] and I rarely rarely go.

I think a part of me is saying 'ummm... hello mike... you can be a bit ummm.... shall we say impulsive....

Anyway to show that even the scientific methodology sucks; I learned a bit; not card counting, but some excellent rules on when to split, how to deal with a shit hand, frequency of face cards/tens, and most importantly, laying back, and winning with a 12,13,14...

And I lose $1000 over the night, while a chick I'm with hit the fucking Video Poker for $500 in quarters

Kimy, it's so much fun! We arrived at the casino at 2:30pm and left at 1am. At one point Jon was up $400. I had a horrible night. We tried playing War. That was fucking AWFUL!!!! I blew $100 in 5 minutes.
I'll be heading to Atlantic City for my bday in January.

Yeah, War wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I dropped $50 in 10 minutes.

But I rocked the blackjack tables for about 12 hours. It was nice to see all the stacks in front of me :) Unfortunately, I knew when I should quit, but I'd only been there an hour or two... so I lost all the money I'd earned, my original fund of $100 and an additional $100 that I got from the atm machine.

And as for my next trip, depends how depleted my funds are after the holidays.

I usually play craps if I go to the casino. I last longer there than at slots or roulette. I play blackjack on occasion.

I only go to casinos once in a while. When I was licensed to work pari-mutuel wagering, I would see the "regulars" there every day, and that sort of turned me off to the whole gambling thing. But I think I'm due for another trip to A.C. It's been about a year since our trip down there.

Yea well I am with Jen...black jack is my game.....I can sit there for hours and hours if I am even breaking even. If you get a table that has energy and are enjoying themselves it makes the time fly by. I sat at a blackjack table in Vegas and my group was SO fun to be with we were there for 4 hours before we realized the time. I do also love roulette and some high stakes slots. My cousin won a total of 65,000 dollars in two trips to Vegas.
The son of a bitch gets there and then leaves in a higher tax bracket! Of course though he plays 5 dollar slots.

some of my male friends get together and play acey duecy and bet. yeah, they make the minimum at 25 cents, but one of my friends won an $85 pot. for those who dont know how to play, the dealer plays 2 cards face up for your turn, and then you have to bet on whether the 3rd card falls between those 2. so if the dealer plays a 2 and a king, chances are the next card will be anywhere between those two, so you'd want to place a higher bet.
i just cant wait until i move into a bigger apartment. i'm dying to have a casino night.
