Just went to Taco Bell. Got some fruity little pseudo-Mexican thing that they stuffed and grilled or whatnot, and a drink.

MAN they put a lot of ice in this cup! And I HATE THAT!

NOW I have a bunch of ice where beverage should have been, and I don't know what to do about it. I always forget to ask for no ice or a little ice, but they guy at the window hardly spoke English anyway so my request would have been answered with a "Que?" and spit in my soda.

I always ask for no ice in my fast food soft drinks. The soda is always cold enough without the ice and you get 2x the soda that you would have with the ice in the cup.

This will sound extreme, but I use to go to Wendys to order 4 Jr hamburgers with lettuce only, no ketchup. The girls were all Spanish and couldnt understand my order, so I had it translated phonetically. Now I say::

I'm with you. Sometimes I get a dirty look. Like I'm ripping them off or something.

I do this at the movies. I can never finish the drink even at a long movie like LOTR! But I'd rather not deal with all that ICE.

And Maybe some place have the syrup set to mix with the water that melts off the ice, but not everywhere, I usually have a nice normal tasting drink with no ice.

I like a cold beverage and don't mind a lot of ice. Restaurants get their highest level of profit on drinks, it's just sugar water, so you're getting ripped off no matter how much ice is in your drink.

You hit the nail on the head, not many people know that. I can only drink soda ICE cold anyhow and don't see a problem even if the ice is filled to the top because if you order the largest drink it is a sometimes an overwhelming amount of soda for only another quarter or two.

actually, straight up fountain soda is a great hangover reliever. i can't give you any scientific explaination but i have a theory-

the concentrated syrup (sugar) off sts the headache

and the carbonation settles the stomach.
