To those people who say, `My father is alive because of animal experimentation,' I say `Yeah, well, good for you. This dog died so your father could live.' Sorry, but I am just not behind that kind of trade off."

Gotta love that Bill Maher!

"I had no idea that after I left in 1986 they would evolve into a band of scientific illiterates.. Clearly, my former Greenpeace colleagues are either not reading the morning paper or simply don't care about the truth."

Thanks Furie, but I must confess that I'm "on the take". I'm a secret operative for "Up With People" and they pay quite well.
Whew, I feel better getting that off my chest!

A great (And quite frankly, necessary) idea for a site, but it's full of shit (Almost as much as most of the organizations and people listed there). It lists all the negatives (Pretty much all of which are correct or accurate, though many or ridicuously out of context), but none of the positives. According to this site, most of these groups are worse than The Masters of Evil, Legion of Doom and Brotherhood of Evil Mutants combined. It's designed ONLY to paint these groups in a bad light, so it's essentially ONLY catering to people who are going to go into it thinking that to begin with.

So what? Why let the truth get in the way of a good story?

The most glaring fault? The lack of ANYTHING on D.A.R.E. and it's epic tale as one of the most massive anti-drug sinkholes in American history.

But I like the layout of the site. Good contact info and links. If they just made it more balanced, it would be perfect. But otherwise it seems that the only goal is to turn people away from these groups/foundations/people no matter what.

It's fighting fire with fire, which is fine. But I was hoping to see more of the people I know and some of the organizations I've worked with on there. So it's hardly "all" the dirt, especially considering there are more than 200,000 non-profits large enough to file tax returns. Let's step it up there, people!

They need to catch up with www.opensecrets.org for thoroughnes.

Couldn't find anything in there on the Carlyle Group.

Mebbe that's because it's a private company into which billions of Saudi money has poured into the pockets of James Baker, Frank Carlucci, Arthur Levitt, Richard Darman, John Major, and both president Bushes!

On Sept. 11, 2001, at the same moment planes were crashing into the WTC and Pentagon, James Baker and Frank Carlucci were at the Ritz Carlton in D.C. meeting with a fella named Shafiq bin Laden.

I have a question: Why is activism so ecologically centered? One of the problems with the history of the planet is that people just don't care about people! Sure, there's some orgs like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty Intl. but still. Can't this site dig up some stuff on these groups.

See Ya!

Someone's got a little sand in their vagina.

Jesus, man, even Yerdaddy recognizes the intention of the site without becoming righteously indignant and outraged by it.

Accept and move one.
