It's not just that I seem to have no Christmas spirit, but my cats would just demolish it.

Didn't get one, but that's because a) I don't really celebrate Xmas, and b) even if I did, the sloping ceiling in my apartment would only allow enough room for a shrub.

got the tree about a 5 days ago. been gettin real ones for about 10 years now. two sets of white lights and a few ornaments and it is actually very lovely. we have 3 cats and the love to chill below it and play 'speed bag' with a few of the lower ornaments but no problems. think you'd have more of a worry with a kitten.

vacuuming the needles is not a problem. as a matter of fact if you get enough needles sometimes they act as an air freshener through the air leaving the vacuum...

plus the leaves are very verdant :)

Oh Christmas Tree

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How are thy leaves so verdant
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How are thy leaves so verdant

Not only in the summertime
But even in winter is thy prime
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How are thy leaves so verdant

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Much pleasure doth thou bring me
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Much pleasure doth thou bring me

For every year the Christmas tree
Brings to us all both joy and glee
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Much pleasure doth thou bring me

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy candles shine out brightly
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy candles shine out brightly

Each bough doth hold its tiny light
That makes each toy to sparkle bright
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Thy candles shine out brightly

My mom bought me a fake 2 footer this year cause she felt sorry for me not having one last year. I prefer a real one, but living alone and not doing much Christmas-type entertaining, I dont really see the need. The fake one was easy to put up, came with lights already on, and I just threw some small ornaments on it. Now that I have it, I see that a little Christmas atmosphere is better than none at all. Thanks mom.

It's not censorship because people can't come here and post/say whatever they want in the first place.

Reeshy, that's too funny.

For New Years Eve, just throw tiny amounts of confetti in corners, and leave a bottle cap or two on a bookshelf.
No expense.. and No Party, BUT you can SAY you threw a great one!

...No sig, yet... Sigh.

I got a fake tree, but that's because the fake trees ALWAYS looks better than a real tree! It doesn't have the smell, but it's damn near close to perfection (just like fake boobies!)

It lasted 3 years so far, and it still looks as good as the 1st day i bought it.

No tree for me. I did decorate with lights and other seasonal goodies, but I never liked the look of a electrified tree.

I haven't gotten a tree in like seven years. It's just me and my mother living here and neither of us really care to get one.

My Jewish sweetie bought a little tree for me a couple of years ago. I really wasn't up for getting one, but he insisted. I think it was mostly because he saw all of these Star Wars ornaments that he could decorate the tree with. I still love it.

I have an artificial tree that's sorta falling apart. It sheds "needles" almost as bad as a real tree. I was going to put it up, but I've been kinda pressed for time these last few weeks. I figure I'll go out after Christmas and buy a new artificial one on sale while the gettin' is good.
