if you question his patriotism........ (http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/printstory.hts/nation/2312399)

I want to see video of that, and I'm fairly certain I will by the end of the day.

You can always count on foxnews. Sure they will have it.

I saw the video on Fox yesterday noon.
The funny thing, another blunder immediately followed; he turned around, talked to a middle aged Jewish lady who asked him if he'd support Israel, to which he replied, "certainly, " than leaned into her whispering in her ear although we could hear it, "my mother was jewish."
He whispers that, but blurts out a swear on national tv. This guy'll have some great press conferences as president.

I would have been more impressed if he had said something like this when he was CINC EUCOM/SACEUR.

This is a guy who, shot in the shoulder, arm, hand, hip and leg, seems to me I read 9 times, and still continued to lead his men forward in combat.
He's still in great shape, don't know if I'd want to mess with him...

...another blunder ...

Blunder? Naaaah...I wouldn't be surprised if ol' Wes and his peeps planned that "slip" all along; they realized that part of Dean's appeal was that he spoke what was on his mind, even if it got him in trouble. Nothing that Clark said on C-Span comes close to the real fumblings Dean has had.

I like this (non-fumbling) quote:

"You know, the American flag doesn't belong to the Republican Party," he said earlier this month in New Hampshire. Holding the flag that was on the stage, he asked the veterans in the audience to stand."That's our flag. We saluted that flag. We served under it. We fought for it. We watched brave men and women buried under it. And no Tom DeLay or John Ashcroft or George W. Bush is going to take this flag away from us."

It's interesting watching Clark stay out of the fray - let those lemmings, Lieberman, Gephart and Kerry, go after Dean, and give the appearance of staying above it all. People turned off by Dean now, may very well be turned off by those three, and there standing to the side, waiting to beat the shit out of anybody that looks at him crosseyed, is General Clark. If Clark ends up with the nomination, his lack of kicking Dean when he was down may play very well with the passionate Dean supporters. All very interesting.

Excellent op-ed piece in yesterday's Washington Post, echoing my comments that the best thing for the Democrats may be that they caught Saddam, because it takes that off the table, and forces them to run on something other than a bunch of negatives. It went on further to talk about it's actually better for the Republicans if things remain tense, with some interesting leaps of reasoning - not all I agree with, but interesting none-the-less.

If I can find the online version, I'll post a link to it.
