I wash fruit and veg's with soap and water

I was at work washing an apple with soaap and water when a co worker saw me and thought it was the oddest thing she ever saw. she tried to ridicule me for it, and a few people took her side, until I asked what she does and she says she just washes it with water. Im like,..Water?? Just water?? How does water get off the pesticides? If water was enough, wouldnt the rain wash off the pesticides out where they are growing them? They stood there with their mouths open, and I believe they realised I was right. Does anyone else use soap to clean their food, or do you just eat dirty food?

If water was enough, wouldnt the rain wash off the pesticides out where they are growing them?


A noble idea for the outside bactrtia and chemicals, but since the vast majority of the apple is made up of the same water that carried off those chemicals, which seep into the ground, and hence the food.

Difficult to rinse the inside of the apple with soap and water. Maybe make apple juice and put it through a few wash cycles.

A quick rinse to remove any loose dirt, and it's eating time. I find no reason to worry about pesticides and bacteria. Life is so short to worry about that crap. If you have a strong immune system, you are all set.
