Dawn of the Dead Trailer (http://mp3content03.bcst.yahoo.com/proot2/PubShare05/yahoomovies/4/5626249.mov)

I just saw the trailer for the remake of "Dawn of the Dead", and it re-affirms a long standing fear I have.

I got over my fear of heights, rollercoasters, and other things.

But I hate, with a passion, zombies.

And this isn't comedic either. I can deal with werewolves, vampires, a multitude of other horror movie staples.

But... zombies really freak me out. I had to see Resident Evil for a job (movie review) and it's the only movie that's given me nightmares.

Zombies eat brains. Very Atkins-friendly.

Had a lady over the house; she says she's afraid of the whole zombie thing, so I say check out the Night of the Living Dead DVD. It's pretty tame, after all, yes?

Holy Freakout she was dying the whole time. And I kid you not, a basement window, that has never before, nor ever since, fell open with a loud bang at one of the scary moments. Sadly the only loud bang of the evening.

But anyway; Stephen King, in 'Danse Macabre' one of his non-fiction books, I'm pretty sure it's this one, anyway he describes what it was like when Night Of TLD came out in theatres. Many parents dropped their kids off at what they thought would be some innocent b-monster movie, and the kids are coming out of the theatre looking like zombies themselves cause they just got the Shit scared out of them.

The movie is dated, but that black and white cinema verite look just sucks ya right in still.

And just to de-rail more the last movie i ever saw in a Drive In was the living Dead sequel that took place in a mall. Is that the one they're re-making?

Love Zombie movies! Love them, love them, love them! I'm a little pissed they are doing a remake of this one, but I'll be there.

ooh if you like sci-fi and zombies scare you - Peter F Hamilton's "neutronium alchemist, naked god, reality dysfunction" - way future with tech people against bio-people and the resurection of past evil people stuck inbetween life and death - I DONT do it justice - 6 book series that rocks.

I just saw "28 days later"

i thought it sucked. maybe it had something to do with the fact i saw it in the theater and the commercial was hyping it like the scariest fucking thing ever captured on film. the part where he was walking around london completely deserted and the car alarm goes off, thats the scariest part, the rest sucked.

I liked " 28 Days Later " aside from the fact that it was British and they weren't " real " zombies.
I also thought the part with the soldiers was kinda lame.

The whole zombie thing works because its usually set in a time when there arent many people around.
The isolation adds to the atmosphere.
Like in Day Of The Dead when they make it into the undergound facility, that was crazy. It was like they were helpless.
On a side note I'd have killed that rat bastard who let them in, but alas the zombies did it for them.

As I said in another Dawn post last night, the zombies in the new flick arent like the old Romero ones. These guys run after the victims like Return Of The Living Dead zombies.
Kinda weak.

I have balls !!!
