I just ruined my breakfast

I occasionally will make hard boiled eggs the night before, so I can save some time in the morning as I get ready. So, I put them on in a pot with water and turn the heat on and come in here and log on, check out a few topics, reply to a few offline messages, send off a few emails and Im sitting here and I hear a "pop" in my kitchen and realise.... The eggs!!
I run in and the pots completely boiled down and the eggs are smokin'! There were my last eggs too! Fuck!!

The eggs were indeed burned and the whites that faced the bottom of the pot had to be cast away and I tossed the yolks anyway. I did manage to salvage some of the whites and it wasnt all that bad, a little smokey, but edible. Plus, I chopped up the whites and mixed a little hot sauce in and I was good to go

I know, it sucks! Its like doing a defrag of your hardrive or a virus scan. You can sit there watching it and itll never finish. Another thing, when Im at work, my phone will NOT ring unless I stuff a pile of salad in my mouth.
