To say that you dont like the Ramones is fine-thats your opinion. But to say that they are not punk icons is just crazy talk. The Ramones ARE punk rock. They defined it. Without them you wouldnt be hearing a lot of the music you hear today. They werent just compared to the Pistols and the Clash but were huge influences on them and so many other huge bands that not only played punk but played a lot of other styles of music.

Throughout their career they produced tons of bands and helped so many get a start. They didnt "milk" their fans-they were good to them. And they were the kind of band fans appreciated.
I respect your opinion that you dont like them, but I think your argument shows just how ignorant you are on the subject. They may not have been the most skilled musicians, but they certainly were talented.
Maybe if you took a few minutes out of your busy day of playing with your toy radio show you could actually pick up a book or a magazine about the Ramones and educate yourself.
