True, Pravda was founded by Lenin in 1912 and was, for all intents and purposes, a tool for the Communist Regime. Although it was shut down a few times during the Czarist era, it was officially shut down by Yeltsin in 1991, prior to the Fall of the Iron Curtain. When it was shut down, the majority of Pravda journalists tried to start their own version of Pravda, but were shut down due to government pressure. In 1999, said journalists started a version of Pravda on line. From what I know of it, it's pro-democracy and tries to report Russian news as best it can.

Ironically, "pravda" means "truth" in Russian. After decades of being under government rule, they're a little bewildered about what may or may not be the truth. Hopefully Pravda won't turn into an Eastern European version of the Weekly World News.

Well, I'm guessing many of you have heard of James Randi. He used to live by me. He goes by "The Amazing Randi" in his long career as a magician. Hey he was on Happy days; the episode where the magician drinks vodka before trying to escape a straightjacket.

Anyway, he started challenging the claims of the spoon benders and faith healers, because he knows how to fake it.

So; with that in mind; he set up The Million Dollar Challenge. You can see the contract on his site. Anyone can apply. Fairly simple; everyone agrees ahead of time [both parties] to the exact test and conditions; what exactly will or will not happen, etc.

And if you can indeed do this under the agreed upon test conditions, you get $1,000,000.
