So where is the file?

OK, this is the deal - a girl in my office is missing a file. So where is it? Somewhere in her cubicle, or in her cabinets? No, we went through them, so it's not there unless we're blind (which is always a possibility).

So the file is somewhere else, because someone fucked up. We know that somebody from "quality control" was looking at it last week, but supposedely gave it back. But it's missing, and my theory is that the quality control person fucked up - she probably looked at the file, returned it to the wrong person, and that person has the file but doesn't know it. So I sent the customary "looking for file" e-mail, but of course no replies, because nobody gives a shit, and I don't bame them, it's not their problem.

But what pisses me off is that whoever fucked up (and however they fucked up), the girl in charge of the file should be more awake. I doubt she got that file back from quality control, but she's not sure, when she SHOULD be sure - it's her file. If you borrowed my watch, I'd be damn sure if you returned it or not.

So where is this file? Big pain in the ass.

Didnt she make the printout of the file from a file on a computer you can look into? say it was a Word file she printed it from, open Word and see the most recent Document. Its cant be THAT easy, can it?

What kind of a file is it? Is it an electronic one that can be reproduced, or is it a file with forms and whatnot? I don't know what you do so I can't much help.

The file turned up. Some asshole filed it away with the closed cases (though it wasn't closed) and, to top that off, filed it in the wrong place.

The next time a file is missing, I'm going to say "you know what, I don't give a fuck, leave me alone, I don't want to know about it, keep your files under lock and key, and if somebody wants to look at it, make a note and remind them to give it back."
