I have my resume on hotjobs, monster and career builder. are there any other good sites, where my resume can get good exposure?

I prefer looking in the help wanted section of the newspaper and mailing my cover letter and resume directly. I hate those resume sites.

The way it really ranks:

mail
fax
email

It's too easy to email, so people get swamped. Fax takes more effort and mail takes the most time, effort and postage, so it's taken to most seriously.

I got my best responses online from craigslist, but ultimately got my job through old school networking. It's all who you know.

I used to work as a technical recruiter during the boom years, for Intel and also on the agency side. The sites you listed were the ones we used the most. If you have technical skills, Dice.com also used to be a good source of resumes for us.

That being said, it's been a couple years since I worked in staffing and the whole game may have changed since then.

I must concur with JustJon regarding my own personal job searches. EVERY meaningful job I've gotten (that was above menial) was through networking and people I know.
