I'm trying to find out the date of the first "ron and fez.com" show on WNEW. Does anybody know?

I can't remember the date, but I know an MP3 exists of it somewhere, because I remember downloading it about a year ago. There's a (very) slight chance I may have burned that file on to a data CD. The file name would probably include the broadcast date. I have a pile of old R&F shows burned on to discs that I've labelled rather poorly. Maybe Steels has it.

I remember the first segment of the show was about a voyeur webcam site. Ron referred to WNEW as the "House that O&A Built."

Actually, I have a copy of that as well. I'm just unable to tell the original date of the show from the files themselves.

Okay Mikey, I only live to please you. This is from deep in the DCRTV archives. Now can I please get back to my Ellen DVD?

(Regarding Don & Mike debuting in NYC:) I think this is going to happen. Remember the earlier story I had about Ron & Fez coming to WJFK? Well I just found out they were told to report to WNEW instead. Their web site has both WNEW and WJFK listed already. Don & Mike mentioned today they would start on a "new" affiliate Monday Feb 28th. Ron & Fez have announced their show will begin at the end of Feb from WNEW. Coincidence? It sounds as if WNEW is rolling out a new lineup for Feb 28th. It looks like it's either Feb 21 or Feb 28. Another post from the same page reads:

You may want to amend my last email. I just got word that the debut for Ron & Fez is Feb 21. It looks as though Don & Mike (at WNEW) will be a week later. Speaking of Hot Talk here is a link you may want to share: web.boston.com/globe/magazine/2-13/featurestory3.shtml. - mas (February 16, 2000)

Yeah I was gonna say 2000; thats when they re-opened the Stone Pony and I worked there and when I'd drive home real late I tuned in and there they were; took me a while to figure this Ron was from Ron and Ron that I heard in Flah-Duh; Lionel of WFLA was a fave too, then he went nuts, I don't remember much Ron and Ron; but you don't forget a show with a name like that.

[EDIT: Oh, and no offense to Crankcase, but weren't Dead German Tourists an earlier Ron and Fez band? Even if it was Ron and Ron, I still think they were first. And they put out a CD. Let the flames begin]

I would argue that because they are from the Ron & Ron era, Dead German Tourists are not "the original R&F show band." However, technically, I don't think Crankcase are either. I believe that honor goes to the International Silver String Submarine Band.

I was hoping the hands belonged to Gordon Jump, the Kid Toucher who ran the bike shop on "Diff'rent Strokes."

Most impressive, Mikey Boy. "Comrade" Bain was one thing, as he still walks the earth. However, you and Virgil must have had to travel to the eighth circle of hell (where the astrologers and magicians dwell) to retrieve Sir Gordon Jump's "John Hancock."
