Is he going for his boy scout merit badge for "weaselly asshole" or something? It's slimey beyond words to send soldiers into a warzone, them fuck 'em in the ass when they get home. Doesn't he remember Vietnam? He was one of the ones them who wasn't degrading the returning soldiers. Why is he now?

Awful. Even though "Once the Iraqi government gets on more solid footing, the administration believes reparations could be negotiated".... yea, that'll happen.

What we need is for some special ops general to steal some chemical missiles, take a bunch of people hostage at a public place, say, Alcatraz, and demand that reparations be paid in fu... oh wait... I think that already happened.

I understand the administrations concerns that this might open the doors for many potential lawsuits against Saddam's regime but couldn't they be tossed since that regime no longer exists?

Also, is there precedent where POWs were financially compensated by the German, Japanese or Vietnamese governments? (I'm pretty certain that the Germans were forced to pay some reparations for the Holocaust and the Japanese paid Korean women who were forced into prostitution.
