Fuck you Grandma and Grandpa

I just need to vent. My middle sister is getting married next week, and my grandparents aren't going. It's my mom's father and stepmother. To make a long story short, we were always very close with them growing up. My mom had a falling out with her brother. Basically, my uncle is not over his parent's divorece of over 30 fucking years ago. My grandparents havent made an attempt whatsoever in making things better. I thought that by moving into an apartment below them ( an owned by my pussy uncle and cunt of an aunt, things would get better, but they dont want to make any attempts. It kills me to see how much it hurts my mom, but I dont know what else to do. Now, I'm the bitch , for not going up to see my grandparents, who, were always there for me, but with the crap between them and my mom, they say "I'm taking my mom's side" and my grandmother (who's actuallly a step grandmother but I always considered a "real" grandma, ignores me to my face now.
It kills me, because I know, god forbid, when my grandpa dies, it's going to be major drama, and i'm just going to regret all that have could been.

I'm sorry. That sucks. I'm not close to my grandparents, on my mom's side and my dad's side. My grandpa died when my mom was young and my dad's parents always favored his siter. We still see them and stuff, but not as much as other people. They were never there when me and my brothers were growing up. Sometimes I think about them dying. There both in there 80's and it would be upsetting. But I guess you have to think about the happy times you had with them.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation Jenn. I have similar situations in my family.....which causes me to not bother with a vast majority of them, because of that Im (according to my aunts) the black sheep of the family.

Just follow what you beleive in your heart to be the right thing for you to do. Thats really the only advice I can give ya.....hopefully it will all be resolved somehow.

The idea of blowing them off my sister's wedding really kills me. I love my Grandpa. But, by them blowing off my sister's wedding, their FIRST grandchild's wedding, it makes me realize they'd do the same for my youngest sister and me. All they really care about is my super jock cousin. It's pretty heartbreaking considering how close we all once were.

Don't like to see you hurting. It's a shame but 'with family' besides the deep love there is the deep hurt that goes along with it. Try not to be bitter or angry because it will affect you 'adversely'(hopefully that makes sense so far)

Some things you just can't change about people, especially adults so just stay your sweet self, be respectful and be the better person.

I don't get it when family members get like this. My two sisters (one older, one younger) aren't talking to each other, and have been like this for a year. I keep telling them to grow up. They probably don't even remember what started it.

Jen, stand your ground and state your case. Point out what you said in the thread about them likely doing the same to you and your other sister and find out their answer to that. It puts them on the spot.

Yeah we have entire giant branches of the family tree that havent spoken in decades. Now that I think of it; wow, a lot. My Grandparents are at a place that I'm not sure recognizes mother's day, and a place I am Positive FTD doesnt deliver. So its a non-issue here, but it was an issue many times in the past. When my older Bro got married my dads Mom was Furious that it wasnt at a Church. My dad wasnt too psyched either.

They say family always takes precedence over friends. I often disagree.
