And I am Christian so this isn't some atheistic diatribe. It just makes me more aware of the fact that people are capable of using religion to justify evil acts. Even if those acts have no basis in the actual tenets of the religion... Doesn't make the acts representative of the religion.

As a religion, it isnt "evil", it is actually a religion that preaches peace. It is its interprtation by fundamentalists that nudge its precepts over towards the evil side, banishing the infedels and all that. Remember, their book is also the Old Testament, and when Mohammad came along, he was their Jesus and the religion diverged from there. They have Moses and Abraham and all that stuff we know about too, the same 10 Commandments, Adam and Eve etc. I dont like to label a whole group for the actions of a few.

And if you read online news reports from ANY of the major news sources in the worlds, you'll find hundreds of quotes from Muslims that fall on either side of this issue. Really not all that difficult to find if you actually make an effort.

I have read statements from Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait just to name a few and they all condemned the beheading. I am just saying that Louis Farakhan and moderate Muslim clerics and Imams in the US need to explain to the people in this country that the acts of a few do not represent an entire religion. I am sure that you are aware of the heightening hate crimes of Muslims and Arabs in this country
