Nowhere on a bottle of ketchup does it say this,
yet I have been doing it all my life. Same with pancake syrup.

Next you're going to tell us you put peanut butter in the fridge!

I put ketchup or catsup as well as syrup in the fridge as well. I also put bread in there and jelly. Even if they're not opened yet.

I always refridgerate ketchup, but never syrup. I always thought once open, ketchup did need to be refridgerated. I wonder if I keep it out of the fridge, maybe it will keep the water from forming at the top.

Wouldn't it be better to have the ketchup at ass temperature, rather than refidgerated, so the cold ketchup does not cool off your warm food?

I put peanut butter in the fridge because I buy the kind that separates if you don't. Ketchup belongs in the fridge after opening.

Should ketchup be refrigerated?
Because it is a very acidic product, ketchup does not spoil easily. Once opened, in order to maintain the product's quality more effectively, we do suggest that ketchup (and any other processed food) be refrigerated after opening because refrigeration retards spoilage.

I've never put peanut butter, syrup, ketchup or even mustard in the refrigerator pretty much my entire life, and look how well I turned out.

What's the point of cooking something if you're just going to douse it with something cold and ruin it?

ketchup, yes. the coolness provides instant relief for the inevitable scorching from hot dogs, fries, etc.

mustard, yes, since i also put it on hot dogs, and cold cuts are already cold.

pb, yes, since the jelly's in the fridge too.

syrup, no. it engulfs pancakes/waffles, and who wants a lukewarm breakfast?

Ketchup and mustard have enough vinegar in them that they don't need to be refridgerated. I put my ketchup and mustard in the fridge because I like them cold. Artificial syrup does not need to be refridgerated, but real maple syrup does or it will go bad. Peanut butter doesn't need to be refridgerated and is more spreadable at room temperature.

Gawd I cant remember what movie but i'm pretty sure it was the real old nasty lady on Sanford and Son who would visit and rip on them.

Anyway in the movie, the discussion turns to sex and this lady says:

"I got what you call that Peanut Butter Pussy...

It's Brown...
Smooth...
and Easy To Spread."

and all the guys there started heaving. fucking classic.

and i can live with ketchup/catsup [theres a thread prolly done a few times] in the fridge or not. PB gotta be room temp. Pancake Syrup at least room temp.

Ever do shots of liquid bosco/nestles syrup right from the fucking bottle? now thats living.

Ketchup, jelly, and mustard go in the fridge. Also in the fridge goes Nestle Quick Syrup and all salad dressings with the exception of straight Balsamic Vinegar.

Syrup and peanut butter stay in the cabinet. Peanut butter needs to be room temperature for taste and spread-ability.
