I finally got around to having my kitchen ceiling fixed (my upstairs neighbor's pipes burst a while back). The contractor came yesterday to scrape and spackle. He's back to sand and paint.

I really hate having strangers in my apartment! It's driving me nuts. I just want him to hurry up and leave.

My apartment is a DISASTER-- I have boxes and junk I'm organizing to go into storage tomorrow. The worst part is he brought his 2 1/2 year old son! This place is NOT childproof. My poor cats are nervous wrecks with a toddler chasing after them!

Ugh! I just had to share!

is it common for contractors to bring their kids with them? sounds a little strange to me.

Maybe it's not really a kid but a midget specially trained to steal your valuables. Keep an eye out, don't ignore him cause he's short.

Keep your eye on the little one, even if he isn't a dwarf. Young kids are tricky.

it's a shame the boy had to be there, i could see the added stress it brings...

but thank goodness the guy is working on the ceiling, this way you don't have to look at his 'dan akroyd ass-crack"...

The guy finally finished a couple of hours ago. I cleaned up all the dust and mess in the kitchen and then noticed paint chips on the floor. The fucking ceiling is peeling! He's going to come back later tonight. Great-- I cleaned up for nothing.

I swear, I can't win for losing!

Oh the number of times I said that at the end of my dates.

I had a situation frighteningly similar to this a while back. I bought my loft as raw space and had to install a kitchen from the ground up. Crew of 4 contractors did most of the job, but toward the end it dwindled to one guy with his pre-school kid toddling along behind him. Sure enough, one fine morning within an hour of arriving, the kid managed to step on a loose nail and had to be rushed, HOWLLLLLING TO WAKE HOLY HELL, over to St. Vincent's for a tetanus shot. Meanwhile, the prick comes back the next day and is lookin at me funny, as if I shot the little demon with a staple gun myself.

"Excuse me...Ms. Fuzzybutt? I'm almost finished with the plastering. I hope you don't mind, it was kinda hot so I took my shirt off. What? You don't have enough money to pay me? Well...I'm sure we can work something out....."

I think the kid is a distraction so you don't bother him while he goes through your underwear drawer.

I worked construction for a while and I hated being in someones house. I liked the outdoor work much better. We know how its a total disruption to a persons life and we just want to finish as quick as possible. We wanted to get out just as much as you wanted us out.

hey fuzzy..im the same way...when my parents are at work and i am home during the day and someoen is suppose to some and fix something i like watch them ..not hover..but i keep my thumb on them...im afraid they may steal something of take a monster shit in the bathroom and be gross and dirty...

when my mommom was alive she would accuse them of stealing her remote when she couldnt find it in her room (it was usually in her bed somewhere when it was found)
