I went to a wedding last night of the guy I use to work with that I posted about in the Bachelor Party thread. Most everyone that wasnt immediate family of the guy also happen to work for the same company. I was seated at a table with some present and former coworkers of mine. Also at the table was a guy who happened to have married a girl who is a twin sister of a girl that use to work with me in our other office before we relocated to Brooklyn. So, we get there and see "Nancy" sitting at the table with a guy and we are like, "Hey! We didnt know Sean invited you too!", meanwhile, it was the guy that was invited and this was his wife Kim! She had no idea that we worked with her sister! We had no idea that "Nancy" had a twin. It threw everyone for a total loop. All night long my coworkers and I are stealing glances at her, and it was very odd, but funny too, because she had the same quirks and voice and mannerisms etc.
Have any of you ever had a coincedental experience that kind of rattled you? Share.

Imagine you are driving a bus. When you start your trip there are an old lady named Johnson and a long-haired kid on the bus. At the first stop the lady leaves and a businessman enters. At the next stop Frankie, a young boy, enters with his little sister. Then three old ladies who have been shopping in the mall get on. After a short trip the long-haired kid leaves the bus and a man and lady enter. Paul with his dog Blue gets on, while Frankie and his sister get off, and, finally, the bus arrives at the bus station. What is the name of the bus driver?

Duh!!! The answer is easy. The guy flips the first switch and leaves it on for a while, turns it off, then turns on the second switch, leaves it on and goes through the door. The bulb that is off and hot is switch one, the bulb that is on is switch two and the bulb that is off is switch 3.

Oh wait, no one asked the question. Damn it that's the only one I know.

If all 4 sides face south, your only option is be on a pole. Actually, you would be exactly on the pole. The only type of bear that lives there is a Polar bear.

Edit: This is just my assumption, I have no idea if it is correct or not.

You are right. It actually would have to be specifically the north pole, which is the only place where you can face south in all 4 directions.

Plus Polar Bears are only found at the north pole.

this kid gets into an accident and goes to the hospital. The mom says I refuse to operate on him, and, and the dad--- I think I fucked it up.

Good call freakshow, sometimes I am an idiot. In all actuality, if you were using a compass to measure direction, this riddle would not be correct. True North and Magnetic North are in 2 different places. I think Magnetic North is somewhere in Canada. If you stood here, your compass would just spin in circles. At the North Pole, I believe you could get a reading, meaning you would not always be facing south. I am sure Mizzle would know more about this one. This is just a technicality though.

seems like yer doin just fine to me. Yep; there is 'true' north, and 'magnetic' north and one is at the north pole and the other is somewhere, but it is standard in navigation to take into account the deviation between true and magnetic north.

what science would like to know is: there is good evidence that the magnetic poles have shifted, even reversed, in the past. Why? beats me. Wonder what happens when that happens. Real Day After Tomorrow stuff.

you got your sock drawer, and the lights are out and you cant see a thing. whats the minimum number of socks you have to pull out to ensure you have a pair. this is done completely in the dark. whats the minimum you need so that you can leave the room without even looking, and KNOW you have a pair.

and why?

I have heard about this shift a lot. It seems as if we are heading towrds another shift, because the amount of magnetism is relativly low compared to other times in Earth's history. While this does not seem so major, we need that magnatism to protect us. It helps us regulate many body procedures. It has happened, on average, every 1/2 million years or so.

MIzzle, as for the riddle above, it is unsolveable because you did not tell us how many different colors were in there.

Magnetic north pole location since 1600.

The web page I found this on says 'Approximately 720,000 years have passed sine the poles last changed around' and 'During the course of the last 5 million years this has happened around 25 times.'

Hmmm, off the top of my head I would say two. Maybe I'm looking at it in a way that's too simplistic, but you didn't say "matching" pair. So, if I only pull out two socks and leave, I could technically say that I have a pair.
