Here's something I never understood.....see being a straight man I know that when I go after a chick that I have to deal with someone who's a very overprotective person...usually a man...whether it be a parent sibling friend, etc. Why is it that men won't let a guy go out with their daughter but when his son tells his dad he's lost his virginity he gets a pat on the back....everyone says to me it's because men remember how they were when they were that age...forgive me but I think that's a load of BS....I mean why is it that people want their daughters to never leave their room but for their son it's ok for him to screw who he wants when he wants how he wants....any answers anyone has please give them here

It probably has a lot to do with a girl either getting pregnant or a bad reputation. See, if a guy has sex with many women, he is a stud. But if a girl has sex with many men, she is a slut. At least in the eyes of most parents. Of course, that whole thing is changing now and it is almost to the point where we are suprised that 12 year old girls are still virgins. The world is going to hell in a hand basket my friend. My sister in law got my 12 year old nephew a cell phone so he can call his girlfriend last week. I didnt even think of that stuff until I was almost 14. Parents today, for whatever reason that escapes me, rush their kids into adulthood too fast instead of allowing them to enjoy their innocence. I guess I am a throwback to a simpler time.

It is an age-old double standard, and I don't think it will change. I thank God I have two sons, just for this reason.

However, I am trying to bring them up, I guess you would call it "Old School" We try to be diciplined(sp), structured, and preach a bit of morality.
There will be no free car and insurance when you turn 17, you want a new bike, get a job, and if you knock somebody up, you've got a lot of thinking to do. This will change your life forever!
We will always be there for support, but ultimalty, if my kids are stupid enough to do something like that, they must realize that there will be ramifications.

I have never spoken openly about my sexual exploits with my dad. Never will. And believe you, me, there will be no patting anywhere. ever.



IMO its kinda the same mentality as when guys score they are the man and when girls do they are slutty. For guys (for some reason) the mentality is that its an accomplishment, whereas, a girl its like they've allowed it to happen.


Also, have you ever heard when guys say they cheated because they are guys and its different for a guy than it is for a girl.

You'll never understand so don't try.

My theory is this. If I have a daughter 1st, her head gets chopped off, and she disapears. If the second one is also a daughter, then her AND my wife lose their head and float down the Nile.

I think that really comes down to nothing more complicated than the physical act itself.
A woman has part of another person inserted into her body, she's penetrated. The guy enters her- it's inherently dominant.
I think from that there's always the percepiton of a "distance" for a man, but more intimacy for a woman. Thus, the woman's act is looked upon as "worse."

any male figure that is close to a female and is not sexually involved or wishes that he was, is very protective over the female. i dated furie 8 years before we got married and we got married a little over a year ago. To this day, my father still does not like furie. When we see them,he tries to act civilized, but it doesn't work. Somewhere in the back of most men's minds, they see the female race as weak and that we need their protection.
