Yes, I know it should be "Tax for the Stupid" but there's actually something cool about organizing and putting together a lottery pool at work, especially when the jackpot gets big.

Of course, I know I won't win, but if I do, christ, I'm going to owe promised boob jobs to about 15 different women.

The worst part about the office lottery pool is that you HAVE to get in on it.

In any other circumstance, I never play the lottery, but fuck you if I'm gonna be the only sucker still sitting there Monday morning when every other slack jawed dill weed I work with is a millionaire.

how's this for a slap in the face...a guy at work decided not to put his money in for the pool and instead went out and bought a $5 scratch off during his lunch break on monday....he won $10,000. I just checked our results...we got back $6 between 29 people.

Expected Value of winning Mega-millions ticket = P1 x V1 + P2 x V2

1/135,145,920 (odds of winning) x 220,000,000 (expected payout)+ 135,145,919/135,145,920 (odds of losing)x 0(you get squat) = 1.63+ 0 =1.63

So a dollar is just worth a dollar but a mega-million lottery ticket (before the drawing) is theoretically worth $1.63. Woo-hoo! Of course, this is before taxes and assumes only one winner, so if you win the first two things you have to do is kill any other winners and buy yourself a jet & fly to the Grand Caymans.

I buy lotto tickets occasionaly, always quick picks, but I have never ever checked a single ticket to see if I had the winning numbers. I figure I would hear it on the news if my store had sold the winning ticket then I would have to find it in a coat pocket or something.

Is there any statistics that indicate how many winners ever won by using quick pick? Everytime I play I use quick pick and I feel luck if I get one number. Has anyone ever heard of a big winner who won as a result of it?
I played this time around and played $8 worth and got a total of 3 numbers in all games. I think its a waste.

I only play lotto if my boss buys tickets for our group. Otherwise, I couldn't be bothered.

I used to play Quick Draw a lot a few years ago. I used to win on that a lot....well, $100 was the most I ever one, but it happened a few times.

I'd rather save my gambling for the BJ tables.

Playing scratch offs was one of the main reasons that I was looking so forward to turning 18.....holds me over till I turn 21 and can play in AC.....most i won was 20 bucks.....I used to buy them in droves and then my dad found out and got pissed so i don't really buy them anymore...but they are fun....
