Recent Dreams and Nightmares?

I have a feeling this has been a thread before, so feel free to chuck it.

Anyway, another thread got me thinking [beginners luck, I guess] about my recent Dreams and Nightmares, I just call them all dreams.

I don't do dream analysis, and was never really big on the symbolism. But I don't matter; what matters is that we Do dream, and a Musician ive studied with has had us record dreams; nothing but jotting down what the dream was, no analysis.

Raw dream data is pretty cool stuff. I like it without the anaylsis, because who knows really? I like to read the dream.

Sadly right now I got Nothing. A rare period of Dreams that are not remembered, or I'm not dreaming, though who knows, again...

But when my Dad died, I dreampt of him for two solid years; and the data was simple:

I'm in a situation and my Dad is there, or he's on the way, and something is Fucked, and I have to fix it before he gets here. Or he's here already and sees whatever's Fucked and I gotta deal with that.

Every dream was a variation on that. I quit the booze, and they stopped. No analysis.

Dream data, anyone? Or none? Do they repeat? Are they situational [like only when drunk, or when you eat pizza]?

I always have the same 2 dreams, at least twice per week each.

One is that I am talking and one of my teeth is loose, and I keep playing with it and it falls out. And then I am sitting there spitting blood.

The other one is that I am trying to run, and the harder I try the slower I am going. Sometimes I am running to go help my dad. Sometimes to school. But I never get there because I am moving like a snail's pace. That one is so frustrating.

I have some random periods where all the dreams in a 3 day period will be batshit insane. It'll feel like it actually happened but I can't control it, and it seems so real, that if someone (in the dream) throws a punch at my face, my body (in real life) will actually jolt backwards. It's actually pretty cool but then again its pretty creepy at the same time.

Some say it means that there is something unsaid in your life that needs to be said. Something you are no admitting to yourself or someone close to you.


The interpretation might be dead-on right, but that's where I run into trouble. I dont want to analyze what they might mean, coz I have No idea.

Because my theory on the tooth thing is that it's a traumatic event we've all been through, so it just slides in somewhere. I think our brains focus on random stuff [not the case with the tooth, I think we've all had the experience, if not the dream] and they just fit in.

I notice some weird sign at a Store, and for some reason, I have a dream in that store, never even remembering that I noticed the weird sign.

And as for the dream of killing threads; I've brought enough to a screeching halt.

The being chased and you can't get away is common too. So is falling from a great height, or being precariously high somewhere.

When i first started taking prozac i'd wake up and write out what i had dreamt. Just to get it out of me in a sense because at that time they were very lucid and really just left me feeling uncomfortable and uneasy.

I think i have a good 4-5 pages full of them, since i've been off prozac for over a year now i haven't written any of my dreams down but maybe it's time i start again. I liked reading/rereading what the dream was.

I had a dream last night. I dreampt that I walked into my kitchen and was deciding if I was going to eat a bowl of coco-puffs or a slice of pizza. I went with the coco-puffs.

In the real world, I've been going through a tough time with a friend involving a girl. And I don't know if the dream is symbolizing anything, like I have a choice that I have to make. Maybe I'm just looking into it too much.

I had a really weird dream that three people were fired at work during my day off, and one of them was Alyson Hannigan.

I'm sure this has to do with the fact that one of my interns is named Alyson with the same exact spelling, but I distinctly remember the image of Alyson HANNIGAN cleaning out her desk and crying.

one of my friends had a dream he was having sex doggie-style with some girl but when that girl turned her head around it wasn't a girl at all, 'it was his brother'...

boy did we have fun with that one for a few years...

my worst nightmares have been about waking up at night and you realize there is a stranger in the house... i wake up with cold sweats and breathing heavy...

When I used to work for the city, I had this one nightmare constantly. I was walking up a flight of stairs and this guy would jump out of a doorway and fire a gun in my face. Talk about waking up with sweats!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I had a strange dream last night. I was in a room with someone. I don't remember whom, but a snake got into the room and was trying to bite me. I was holding it by it's slithering neck at a distance in which it couldn't bite me. But I was worried about being bitten. The person in my dream was reading information to me about how to deal with the snake. One of the suggestions included me actually biting the snake back towards the tail. So I did it and almost broke the skin. The next suggestion had me biting the snake again and it just sounded so odd that I couldn't believe it. I woke up shortly after that.

I have no idea what it means though.

Maybe I'm being childish but for maybe the past 5 months or so almost nightly i have been having gory horricfic nightmares about zombies and them attacking my freinds and family and then attacking me which makes me wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweats breathing heavily and then i won't be able to get back to bed and i just can't understand why i havnt seen a zombie movie in years. and lately the dreams have been becoming more intense and vivid which is getting me less and less sleep i've talk to other people about this but they kinda just brush it off...and i'd understand if you guys did too but i just needed another place to vent...thanx anyway guys.
