It's okay. I'm 20 and I've never even been behind a steering wheel.

I haven't driven since my last accident which was in 1994. 4 or 5 police cars were chasing me.. Whoo, I am getting to deep into my personal life. The end.

I'm 23 and don't drive.

Some bartenders are dicks and don't accept my state issued liqour ID or state ID. So I have to be able to drive to drink? Yeah, that makes a lot of fucking sense.

I got my permit a month ago. I'm 17, but probably one of the last people from my grade to do so. I've practiced driving, and it seems pretty easy. It's not so much the driving part that's hard as much as remembering to put your signals on. Other than that, it's nice.

I did an autism walkathon there. Do you live very close to there?

Oh, and I didn't drive until my parents made me get my license the summer before I started college. My did scared the shit out of me on Sunken Meadow Parkway (he was an AWFUL teacher), and I didn't want to drive anymore. Of course, it didn't help that I hit a snowbank in driver's ed, was screamed at by the instructor, and got out of the car and walked home in the snow. My dad went after him, and he kissed my ass from that time on. I admit-- I was a sucky driver in the beginning, but someone screaming at you doesn't help at all.

I drive.

I've pretty much driven since I was a junior in high school. I love to drive. I used to drive all around the island (LI) on the weekends every week and would always try to discover new things. Now I have longer drives to Jersey on the weekends to see my girl and I love the drive.

Though I can understand folks who drive for a living and hate it. I used to drive around a lot when I worked in printing and would bring various work to customer sites all over the place. It was always nice to get out and drive around.

People who don't drive annoy me. It's never their turn to drive. And they always seem to live a little out of the way from where you're going. The least you can do is get your license, so when I get to your house you can drive. Also, isn't it hard to only date people who are on your bus route?

probably scared the shit out of him too!
:)

teaching someone to drive is probably one of the more stressful things in your life you could ever do... i have four brothers and my dad should get a medal. especially after he had my oldest brother out driving and after my brother made the turn he never straightened the wheel out and went right into a parked car...

I hate people who do not drive then get pissed when you do not want to go pick them up. I have a friend like this. I am like "get a fucking license and a car and then drive yourself". Driving gives you such freedom. Never having to wait for a bus or train is great. Always on someone else's schedule. Then the train is late. Or the bus broke down. Or, my favorite, you are on the train and it stops for no apparent reason. Very shitty.

So who ever does nto drive, is it more financial or mental? I can not understand the mental part. I have gotten into an accident, and it sucked (hit by drunk driver), and I did nto want to drive for a day or 2. Then I got over it. Yea it was scary at first, but its waybetter than standing in the rain on the corner waiting for a bus to come. With no car, how do you go out at night? what if no one wants to pick you up, then you are screwed?

I live in the burbs and dont drive really... mostly b/c I have no where to go. oh and probably because I dont have a car either. If I do drive I use my parents car and its usually just local. I'll probably get a car soon when I go back to school but I don't think I will be drivin much anyways. my sad little life. :(

in the first year that I had my license, I put 19,000 miles on my car. and I lived 1/2 a mile from my high school. I would drive down the shore on a wednesday night just to get pizza.

Or drive to NYC to get sushi at 2:00am

Literally the best years of my life.
