August: New Months Resolutions= ??

OK thats pretty weak but it's August 1 and it's a Sunday.

There's always been something to me about months that begin on Sundays, as Sundays are sorta a mini-time to say 'jesus I better get my shit together' for next week...

A new beginning if you will. Ya know; another Month is Shot; you didn't get what ya want...

So a new month, And a new Week, perhaps some of us have some things going on we wish weren't or things aren't going a certain way you want, or whatever.

Me?

Number One: Be More Happy

last week, more like two of July my mood was in the sub-basement, as it cleared up a few days ago so noticabably I'm wondering, what happened? And how to stay like this?

Number Two: Make More Money

I'm coasting on what I earn, and the coast is OK, no major problems. But my Visa bill is well over 10 Large, and I'd like to knock that fucker down to zero, cancel that piece of shit, etc...

Relationships? Ha! Please, I'll de-rail my own post.

Oh yeah, the first of the month is also a good time to, for us who use computers to access the site:

-Clean out the Temporary Files, Cookies, that Disc Cleanup thing.

-Back up your shit. I've lost some killer stuff because of hard drive farts. Spend the bucks to get an External HD and throw all your stuff on there. Saved my ass a Bunch of times.

-Run that Adware/Spyware.

-Do the Defrag

Update virus definitions and check for new critical windows updates. Burn a copy of important finiancal / pictures / whatever to a CD and drop it off at a friend or family members house. That way, in case of fire or theft, all your real important shit in somewhere else. I did this twice per year. christmans time and around my birthday in May. Just burn a CD or DVD of all the stuff I could not live with out and bring it to my parents house and leave it somewhere out of the way.

BTW, Mizzle you need to kill that debt on the Visa card REAL quick. I am sure I do not need to expain the pitfalsl of compound interest. And I am sure the % is not consumer friendly.

Oh yeah I do indeed, and it's getting down nicely. I made the mistake of showing my dad my first credit card soon after I got it. He responded by sitting me down, he actually took out paper, and showed me exactly how I was about to ruin my finances. He showed me how you can end up paying $250 for a $100 purchase. And this was when I was, shit, 22? Later even? Wow it pissed me off. Now I know why.

It's really insidious how they get you; like leeching.

One cool thing was, for quick interest calculations; he taught me the Rule of 72.

Mine isn't so much a resolution as it is a wish:

I want my very own Android to help out when necessary.

However instead of helping with obvious stuff, like computer hassles, or assembling stuff....

... I can only picture how great it would be taking C3PO, or even better: DATA.. to the beach, or helping me get the groceries out of the car.
