Looks like they're making a sequel. For those who used to crank up the Queensryche.....

Hell, if you're going to make a sequel to a concept album...

This is Not a good thing. That original is too good. Remember Meat Loaf put out that Bat out of Hell Part 2? hey, surprisingly it had a semi-hit single that escapes me, but come On; you Can't Re-Create the atmosphere that spawned a Bat out of Hell type album, so why bother trying, I say.

Well, I can hope it kicks ass.

I'd try to stir interest in people, even non-hard rock/metal-heads to buy Operation: Mindcrime and give it a chance. It's a very rare concept album that works; flows, and the good songs are the rule, not the exception. The beginning fanfare 'Anarchy X' is a chilling psuedo military Nuremberg Rally.

'Do you Want Freedom?' and the huge crowd response:

NO ! ! !

just kills.

=

Styx? Sadly before the abortion that Kilroy was here they had the Paradise Theatre concept album. If you were my age, your senior year of HS had the radio blaring 'The Best of Times' or 'Rockin' the Paradise' and I hang my head in utter shame because prior to that I had seen Styx on the Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, and Cornerstone tours, watching in horror as they turned from a pretty good live act into well, listen to Kilroy. Wait! Dont! Stop!! No No no no put the CD away, no no no....

::sprinkly synthsesizer tinkles with synth bass drone::

Vocoder Vox: Dobo Ori Gato Mister Roboto

And we descend, literally, into the Stygian depths of Hell. Thats the name, Styx was the river down There.

[shudder]

I have mixed emotions on this one. Sequels can ruin everything good aboot the original (see also: The Phantom Menace) or they can be a really cool extension of the what made the original so great (The Terminator 2).
It will be interesting to see how it applies to music.

Does this mean we'll finally learn who killed her?

I will do anything for love (But I won't do that).

Operation Mindcrime was one of the most incredible albums of all time. (IMHO) It is a shame not that many people think of it when they go over the greatest albums of all time. They usually say something stupid like Born in the USA by Springsteen and then Purple Rain by Prince. Both are good albums but Queensryche definately hit on something ingenious when they made this CD. I just...like Mike Teach...hope it is as good as the Original.

Oh yea...by the way...

KISS SUCKS! Aside from 2 MAYBE 3 good songs they are a waste of Vinyl. Good live shows??? Maybe. Good albums? Nope.
Now if VAN HALEN came out with another live Album...that is a different story.

I never got Queensryche. I was never a big fan of the screaming lead singer, no matter how good the music was backing it up. Thankfully the one person I knew who loved them, never forced me to listen to it in an attempt to sway me.

Let's get Sirius...

Hey I love Kiss; and as for

we need another greatest hits album from KISS

They had The Box Set, Double Platinum, Snashes, Thrashes, and Hits, Kiss Unplugged, Four 'Alive' Albums; and Gene's seeling everything from Kiss dolls to Coffins. I think the Kiss market is pretty good for the fan.

However, the sin of touring with someone in Ace's and Pete's Outfits is a fucking crime. Shame! j'Accuse!!!! Call it quits. [Edit: Like ya said in 1996 during The Farewell Tour. Of course, I have my 1982 Who Ticket from Shea, and THAT was a 'Farewell Tour'.

These guys are worse then boxers.
