I'm watching this movie with Sigourney Weaver and Anthony LaPaglia. it's about a woman writer who helps a Fire Captain write eulogies for men that were lost in his ladder company. One of the main themes in the movie were about how the firemen would always hang out in their kitchen in the firehouse.
I remember, as a kid, going to my dad's firehouse and cleaning up the kitchen with my cousin, Joe Spor. His dad was my dad's Lt. and cousin. I remember Joe telling me how he wanted to be a fireman when he grew up but I always wanted to be a cop. I remember sitting there eating lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon with Joe and being kidded by the firemen and my dad just sitting there smiling. I remember doing the dishes with my cousin while the firemen were out at a fire and we would answer the phones while they out. I remember my dad showing us how to roll up the hoses and clean the brass on the rigs .
I remember the day when my cousin,Joseph Spor, was finally declared officailly dead from Rescue 4 at the WTC.
