Im not sure if i spelled despise wrong, but I really fucking dislike Hoboken. Unfortunatley, I have to go there for a bachelor party tomorrow. I'm sorry if any of you guys (gals) live there, but Hoboken is such a second rate NYC. (minus the coolness.)

How do you feel about T-Mobile?

I like hoboken. I hang out there sometimes and I think its a pretty cool little city. Plus nyc is a quick train ride away... good place to live if you dont want to live in the city.

The only thing i could see you having a problem with is the parking. We lived in Jersey City and went to church in Hoboken at Gospel Hall. I also worked at the Poggi Press. Lots of nice restaurants and pubs. "Trying to be like NYC"? if so, so what?

I agree with Funk. And just because a place is a city does not mean it is trying to be New York City- a belief that many New Yorkers do not understand. Furthermore, I agree with Funk that we should go bowling and eat mushrooms and while he may not have written that, I agree Funk.

Hoboken does suck. The parking is horrendous. The bars and restaurants are always over crowded. They keep building more and more apartments for jacked up rents. A one bedroom that is technically in JC can run $2000. It's ridiculous.

Holy Charlie Manson! Hoboken is getting killed here.
I live in Hoboken, and I love it!
Parking shmarking, I got rid of my car. I live in a nice place with cheap rent and I have some great bars, delis and restaurants within walking distance.
Now, mind you I live no where near Washington St. or near the Path where many of you might be familiar with. Those bars are overcrowded, and do suck.
Walk back into the neighborhoods, away from the main street everyday and I guarantee you'll find nice places to hang out - especially in the summer, because the place empties out every weekend. It's the best time to enjoy Hoboken!

plus they played the first baseball game there... Elysian field i think... there was a corner bar on Washington called the Elysian. i worked with a guy at the Poggi Press who lived upstairs above the bar. They had a caricature on the wall of him. He had diabetes and he ate alot of candy at work, smoked and drank heavy. He died a fairly young man... he was about 5'2 if that and weighed a little above 100 pounds.
a distant relative of mine had a friend who worked at Maxwell House and he would take a rowboat at night to the back of the factory and his friend would send out cases of coffee... i'm pretty sure he was on heroin...
my grandfather lived right on Washington for a bit about a block down from the Elks... i always remember the bronze statue of that elk when we went to visit..
