I like NFL 2k5 Over Madden...

It's simple. I've been converted. I bought both Madden and NFL 2k5, but I like NFL 2k5 so much better. I don't know what's wrong, just Madden is rubbing me the wrong way this year, and for 20 bucks, you simply cannot beat NFL 2k5.

I got it as well, well worth the 20 bucks!!!! the amount of detail is amazing (though the stadiums' fields aren't accurate, but that's my only gripe). I like you have to train and prepare your team in franchise mode

You know, I've strayed away from football games ever since Madden 2002 stunk up my computer. The game sucked! No matter what NFL team I picked, the line were never able to do their job and usually let about 2 or 3 guys come at me in about 3 seconds. Then there was the fact that just about NO running back was capable of making 4 yards, and the chances of computers picking off your passes or intercepting them altogether were as likely as Bush choking on a pretzel. That's why I really can't pull the trigger on buying ANY football game ever again, no matter how good people say they are. Because they usually suck.

ESPN is unlike any Madden game ever, so you should try it Jynx. Much better than Madden this year as I said in the Madden thread, and worth 60 dollars I say!!!

yeah it turns out Madden's franchise mode is much better. ESPN doesn't generate new scedules each year like its supposed to, so you wind up playing at least 10 of the same games from year to year (your division rivals and the conference division that you play in year 1). Still love the game, and i'm still playing it, but unless that's a bug in my franchise or something, that's not cool beans.

My Madden started freezing the other day. I think it might have something to do with a scratch on the bottom. Need to borrow my buddies disc cleaner.

I think ESPN 2K5 is great compared to Madden. I like Madden's commentary during the game, but Chris Berman's Half Time Hightlights are tremendous.

the reason you dont like madden is cause you play a video game. you dont play football.

i played the sega one, its the same as all the old football games, throw it deep, he'll prob catch it, go for it on 4th and 20 and probably get it, BULLSHIT

you dont like madden cause you dont know the game of football well enough to be good at it, since the D is better. but then again, you need to know about schemes and such, and can audible and hot route every single guy, and make each one do something else.
the new madden is exactly like being on a field playing football. the espn one is like playing a football video game

Well Crippler and I have both started a franchise on his Madden game and we are having a blast. I have to agree it is so much better then the other systems. We use it on PS2. I would like to get a hold of NFL 2K5 for my system also.
I have two problems with Madden however. The first is it is nearly impossible to run on this game. It seems like the line is almost useless.

The second is I was able to unlock some of the classic teams like the 90 Eagles and 85 Bears and 86 Giants but all of the players are no names. Just numbers and they do not even match the position. (Ex. 1986 Giants QB is #3 instead of #11 Phil Simms) WTF is up with that????

yeah, i had problems on the rushing as when I played with the Lions I had maybe 14 rushin yards the entire game...and this game was against the texans

you gotta run draws and screens early, break it up a little. once you wear them down, you can pound in the second half. like i said, its just like real football. they made the AI alot better, so they pick up on tendancies and you cant just keep running the same play

the lions are good if you use them right, you can win with any team if you know how to play with them. i just love that madden makes you think like a football coach. its even to the point where i now have a couple triggers that cause me to call some audibles, and i love the individual play maker option

what's great about Madden's new defense system is it's ESPN's but the difference is you audible to a pinch, contain, etc. instead of choosing it from the playpicking screen.

I just don't agree with you Snoogs, you can't just run straight at people in real football, but that is what the madden games are. At least in ESPN you are charging up a shoulder charge or spin or whatnot so there's some skill there.

I find that as soon as you get used to madden you can beat anybody with anybody. ESPN has difficulty problems too because you either are blowing teams out or losing real bad because Legend just makes your players stupider and the slider seems random. Gameplay seems to have no comparison still though.

I'm bummed, my Madden keeps freezing during gameplay due to a scratch I can't remove. Since I bought it when it came out EB won't exchange it and I don't have a job at the moment, so paying $60 for it again is out of the fucking question.
