20 years ago; I doubt we'd even have heard about it after only a day.

That little tensy weensy accident they had when the top of Reactor #2 blew itself sky high, along with a few tons of radioactive materials in Chernobyl; the USSR didn't admit to shit until planes in Europe started detecting radioisotopes that could only be from a reactor disaster.

Finally, grudgingly, they gave in and the news went out. Slow as a Glacier on Ritalin. And misreportings, incomplete, some filled with bullshit. Sorta like our press today!

You're probably right. My buddy is an aviation claims examiner for an insurance company. She told me that according Russian law. If its a "crash" Aeroflot has to pay $3500 to each of the dead's families. If its "terrorism" no payment has to be made. betcha it winds up terrorism.

Pilots familiar with the Tu-154 told CNN that the planes' flight data recorders would be able to determine if there had been a "flameout," which takes place when jet fuel is contaminated with water.

Wasn't it Dubs who predicted this? I don't believe this is the case. It sounds logical, but what happened is just way to suspicious for the described "fameout". It definatly seems like bombs were used, and/or a highjacking took place.
