The only good thing about Florida is that its cheap to live down there, and you can own a home and make $10 an hour!
Otherwise, Florida sucks ass because of;
Bugs
Humidity
Rain
Hurricanes
Bad drivers with no insurance and they dont have to have yearly safety inspections!

I just watched the coolest lightning storm last night here in Punta Gorda. There was a huge circle of clouds surrounding our marina and the lightning was spidering like 30 feet in front of me. There was NO rain and it was like the coolest 3 hours of my life. I smoked two joints and just sat there in awe as God put on the greatest light show ever. Being on the 7th floor is really kool.

I'm outta here Friday cause I 'aint waiting for Frances to blow me. Charlie really fucked shit up here. There's no palm trees left and EVERY house has something wrong with it. We lost some screens off our lanai and consider ourselves lucky. Some people lost EVERYTHING, and have to go up to Tamiami road to get free food from the Red Cross and other charities. The Manatee family that used to live in our marina hasn't returned yet either. Mother (fuckin) Nature!

This thing looks worse and worse every time I see the weather channel. I have family who live in Ft. Lauderdale and I am starting to get worried about them. It is not even the middle of September and we are already on storm #6 and this one could make us face over 1 billion in damages (if you total up all the other storms also). Florida STILL has not fully recovered from the last storm. I honestly hope there is a 1 month break between storms or the people in Florida will have nothing left to fall back on.

Someone must have pissed Mother Nature off BIG time.

It's horrific what these things do when they interact with humanity, but I have been in awe of hurricanes ever since I can remember. And the more I read, the more I realized that these are about the most powerful thing that the planet produces. They can shake the friggin earth; seismologists across the globe could detect the echoes of the Perfect Storm [read the book for a great lesson in hurricane-ology] slamming against the east coast.

The energies involved are staggering; our entire nuke arsenals a whisper. Look at that picture over at drudge, that's simultaneous the scariest and most beautiful thing...

you have no idea what you are talking about. Ever notice how summer is juts to damn short up north? Well down here it get to about 85 everyday up until mid October when it cools down to the 70's. Believe it or not we even get frost where I am. Yes The summer is HOT not that humid, there is way more humidity up North in NY than there is down here. Yes the Drivers suck ass down here, yes they are all old and stupid, but who cares, I've got one of the greatest beaches in the country right down the road from me. There's NO Snow, (none that I've seen yet that is, it snowed down here a few times way before I moved down here) Oh yea forgive me it does rain here everyday. Everyday during the summer around midday early evening we get thunderstorms that last a whole 45 minutes to an hour, they pass over and its sunny again. That's the "rainy season" Boo hoo!
I have a HUGE problem with Florida-- it STOLE my best friend. When are you coming back to me Ant? Not for a while, I missed you last week when I was up there, due to our conflicting schedules, we could have been sharing the night together, making love, sweet passionate.................. Um yea Ill stop, You always are welcome down here I will gladly share........ I mean give you my bed for a few nights while I slept on the couch

Are you a crack baby? I have spent plenty of time in your crapy state (My favorite Cousin fucked his life up by moving there 15 years ago) and no matter what time of year (except Dec., Jan., and Feb.) I go there, it is 90% humitidy. The only thing I can think of, is that you live in Northern Florida with all the welfare people. Because anything South of Jacksonville is a sweat box.

My father told me a story about a typhoon(a sea-going hurricane) off the coast of Okinawa in 1945, He was on the USS Gunard(submarine) when the storn hit..They submerged and escaped the storm ..When they surfaced, over 20 US ships had been sunk by the storm....they did rescue duty for over 4 days.....Do a google search to look it up, MT!!!!!!

Yea thats true, SOUTH Florida is ALWAYS hot, however if you live in the Tampa Bay Area Like me, we actually get some seasons down here, no snow, but at night in like February it gets COLD, Cold as in like the 30's. Yes, paradise. I love five consecutive days of heavy rain. And do not tell me it is because of the hurricane, that is one day. I was living on a golf course when "Bob" hit Long Island. After it passed, I went out and played golf later that day (Although there was 40mph winds, lmao). Sunshine state my ass.

Well, I just tried checking the Weather Channel's site, and the news networks, but couldn't find what WeatherBug just "alerted" me to...that Ivan is now one of the ten most powerful hurricaines in the Atlantic since they started recording such things.

Yowza.

Apparently Florida has lucked out for something like the last 40 years
in terms of hurricanes because of long term weather patterns that
generally sent storms to the sea instead of hitting Florida, but now
they've shifted and everything's getting driven right into the state
itself. So it might be a good time to sell any Florida beach front real
estate you have.

Here are the details (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5931596/)

This may not make any sense because it's late but Ivan is like a freakin' human. If you look at the track, espically around Jamica--it's picking it's spots. It stopped right at Jamica and then went south and west. I haven't seen too many that act like this.

Now it's sorta searching for the gap between Cuba and Mexico, i've been watching the projected path for 3 days now, and it's finally found that gap. I think Florida may be out the woods almost completely with the latest path that just came out at 5. It's projected landfall is now almost Alabama.

i live in orlando and charlie, frances and now this one have just shit all over this place.

thank god for it too....enough about the poor unfortunate people of florida. FEMA has dumped all sorts of money here which i am now gladly soaking up by snagging a contract to remove debris to the tune of about 1500 a day for the last 6 weeks.

more hurricanes please.

the Family has a place in Stuart, FLA. If you go to drudge and see the hurricane pic, the eye is right there; theyve had to evac three times in three weeks.

Many this time are not leaving.
