Who here has a best friend????

I think I had only one best friend in my whole life...besides my wife!!!!

His name was Manny Lopez.....I worked with him for over 10 years...we were partners in OCCB and had great collars and times together....I got a phone call today that he died last night of a massive coronary...I miss that bastard already...he saved my life more times than I can remember...and I'm not talking about the job!!!!!

Today , I took the day off from work and went to see my partner's wife. Her whole family was there. I gave her a kiss and started to cry..She was the one that comforted me instead of the other way around...Manny's cousin was there..He's is a cop in Manhattan...His name is Tommy....I never worked with him but I knew him when he ws a rookie...we reminiscined about Manny..about how he pulled my ass out of a fire in the South Bronx when I was full of smoke and couldn't breath...how I was Manny's daughter's Godfather(her name is Angela)...about how we used to have barbecues together with our families!!!


I'll miss you, Manny , and see you tomorrow for the last time at your funeral!!!!!

My condolences....This has got to be really rough on you. I am sorry that it had to happen. Remeber, the pain will lessen over time. I wish I could tell you that it will go away, but, unfortunately, that is not the case. But it will ease.

I have two best friends, brothers. I am the godfather of one's daughter, and soon to be the godfather of the other's unborn son. I've known them for about 12 years. One is one of my roommates.

I also have a best female friend. She is in the navy, and stationed in Italy. She comes back for a week in october, I can't wait!
