i watching the series premiere, and for a show I honestly wasnt planning on watching, Im really impressed. The guy getting sucked into the engine was fuckin sick. The explosions were really great. I like the characters and how different they all are and how they reacted to the crash. I find it interesting how so many passengers survived but not one of the pilots or flight attendants. And I love that there is some crazy shit going on on the island to add to all the drama of them being stranded. Anyone else watching?

They've got me hooked. It doesn't remind me of 24 but I think it's in the same realm in terms of the creative premise.
I thought we already figured out that there are huge polar bears wandering around a tropical island. Do you think there are more creatures? I think the real question is where they are if a freaking polar bear is there.
And I'm sorry but that dog would have been dead in the jungle after 1 day.

The first episode just establishes the characters and the fact that there is something else on the island.
The second episode continues to establish characters and also adds the twist that there is a signal coming off the island.
ABC's Lost episode guide (http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/episodes/2004-05/1.html)
You can basically just like read a summary of the first 2 and start with episode 3. That or you can wait for god knows how long and then get it on DVD...

The show is amazing and has a real depth to it that isn't really displayed in the first two episodes. The first two are a crash survivors' story, but they start having flashbacks to the characters lives and backstories in the other eps to establish who these people where and why they are there.
And episodes 10 and 11 (the last new eps before their christmas break) introduced a whole new twist to the story.

Is it me, or did the show just decide to drop the whole "there's some sort of huge monster on the island" storyline?
Don't get me wrong, it's still one of the best shows on TV right now, but it's strange that the big hype leading into this series had to do with there being something, not someone, on the island with the survivors and now it's just been forgotten.

Am I the only one who realized it came back on this week?
Anyway, for those that did watch it, there has to be more to the story than just some stupid minature airplane. I know Kate was all upset over having killed the man she loved, but nothing in that case would have given that away to Jack or Sawyer. She told Jack everything else that was in there, all she had to do was just make up some bullshit story about the plane.
Either something doesn't add up or they just had the worst episode to date (minus the wet and pantless Kate).
fezident
01-07-2005, 01:51 AM
Yup..that was the most unfulfilling episode thus far. No payoff.
That little toy plane must have SOME other value (other than sentimental) to Kate. Or perhaps they are leading to something along the lines of The Gold Watch in Pulp Fiction.
Another thing that bothered me: didn't Locke find some a big box (or something like that) at the very end of the last episode? They made no mention of it during this episode. The show usually has very good continuity but, not this time.
Also, I'm tired of that brother/sister team. They exchange the same exact dialog each week. Yaawn. Although...she DID reveal that he is a homosexual in this episode.
Still a great show but, this ep wasn't the best.

I'm betting on that she had the child and those other people on the island have it. They didn't want her, but they need her baby for some reason.
After the last episode, during that flashback where Walt's white father said things happen when he's around, I'm getting the feeling it's gonna come down to a battle between good and evil between the children to detemine the fate of all.
If you remember correctly, that psychic was really freaked out when he was with Claire. Kinda gave me the feeling that the child was evil or something.

That was one of the best episodes so far. The show needed a break from the supernatural and the "murder" mysteries.
They showed the survivors dealing with each other and interacting. NICE!
I never thougt the show needed invisible monsters. I hope they slowly phase that part out.

Yeah, I was checking out a spoiler site and I believe we finally see Hurley's story next week and it somehow ties in with him being on TV, wink, wink.
Last night was really good, I suspected the little boy of burning down the boat last night right after it happened. I actually thought maybe he did it with his 'powers' but they never touched on that.
Anyone have any theories on the show in general? I'm thinking it may be some kind of purgatory. Locke seems to be helping all the 'survivors' one by one deal with the inner struggles and baggage they all have. Just a guess that it could be something like that. I'm still watching so they're doing something right.
And I love how they ended it with Hurley's batteries dying and the total quiet of being stranded in God knows where.

Paul Dini (a writer) has said that the monster is based on reaction when they encounter it. The pilot was eaten because he was scared. Locke was spared because he was in awe of it. etc.

Another repeat next week?!?! This is getting ridiculous! What's this gonna be like, 24's of seasons past where it takes 6-8 fucking months just to complete? I swear, this show better have a huge payoff at the end for dragging it out this long.
Now, after that rant is done, I can get to the actual episode. Clearly one of the best and freakiest to date. I anxiously awaited Hurley's story and IMO it did not disappoint. The revelation of where the numbers came from was a nice touch. Once again, everyone and everything seems to be tied together.

Well, at least they had the number 42 in there.
They've been showing a lot of interconnections between the survivors for the last couple of episodes- Sawyer running into Jack's father, Hurley's accountant mentioning that he owns a box company (perhaps the one where Locke worked?). They may be doing a slow reveal here and there will be some connection between many of the characters I'm guessing.

i liked the way the show can move characters from comic relief to serious ie. Hurly and Charlie, and still maintain its overall feeling,
I was sure that Hurlys mom was going to get shot by the crips or bloods as sooon as she put that bandanna on
I cant get a read on the show sometimes it seems magical in nature ie. the cursed #'s and other times it seems more like mad scientist or goverment experiment stuff, ie. the hatch

Hurley did step on a jellyfish when he was fishing with Jin, if you consider that bad luck.
The series of numbers: I think that the numbers individually and paired up reference certain things in the show. ( 815 being the flight and the number of the lock box Kate robbed, French woman on the island for 16 yrs, 4yrs ago the guy shot himself, 8 people dying inthe factory and so on..)
As for the whole series of numbers, I think that the only thing the signify as a whole is that they are the serial number on the metal hatch and were being braodcasted for the french woman and Lenny to hear (which Hurley used to play the lotto with). People are going to go crazy trying to find a pattern within the series of numbers.
I was thinking maybe a reference to a significant date or Bible passages, but I really think each number in the sequence is just tied in to other characters intentionally by coincidence.
On another board, someone noticed that Lenny was playing "Connect Four" when Hurley visited him. Does anyone know how many total squares are in "Connect Four"?

Theres something to the black/white thing in this show.
One of the times that he was sitting on the beach meditating or whatever you can see him holding a white chip or rock in one hand and a black in the other.
And again, in one of their dreams (Claires if I remember right) Locke appears with one white eye and one black eye.
Great show.

A friend of mine had an interesting theory. People only encounter the monster at times of doubt and when they are alone. The monster shows people what they need to see.
The french woman has appeared twice. Sayed and Hurley were both in times of doubt - Hurley with the numbers and Sayed over what he did to the woman. The french woman showed both of them what they needed at the time - Hurley the map and numbers, Sayed pennance through torture.

I get the feeling that Boone may have got some of the drugs into his blood when that plane fell out of the tree. The way he was kinda sliced up, I would think that some of the statues broke open and he probably got some of the H on him. If that were the case, it could complicate his recovery.
I wonder if Locke had feeling in his legs until he got that piece of shrapnel in his leg (when he started trying to open the hatch). As the donation thing was starting to play out, I got the sense that something was up the way that his father seemed eager to meet with him, and extremely friendly. I figured it out when I saw the dialysis machine. I was thinking that Locke became paralyzed due to the donation of the kidney (maybe an infection, or complication), but that suicide idea is also a possibility.
Also, did anyone think that "Locke-with-hair" looked an awful lot like Jim Perdue in those Perdue commercials scattered throughout the episode? Product placement? :)

I just watched it again with the wife, and during the preview I noticed it might not be Locke. He had a white shirt with blood on it, but the guy who gets shot had a brown shirt, or at the very least a very dirty shirt.

In the beginning of the preview Locke's shirt was still white with blood on it. I seem to remember that Ethan guy that Charlie shot had a dark shirt on so maybe it was that scene being played to make us think it's Locke.

Anyway, that's a stretch and I still say it's probably Shannon that shoots Locke.

i still think that Charlie will smoke Boone's corpse.....well the heroin will come up again at least......

i'm thinking the baby will be named "Boone" too.

I think that Locke will get shot but not die. I'm hoping that they don't get into a habit of killing characters off. Like if 2 die this season they should really only kill two or three more in the entire series run. I think the fact that there are so many characters is good for the show because they can just do flashbacks instead of having to come up with more episode storylines like its just a normal drama.

With that said, I'm thinking that Sayid will die anyway. Don't know how, but i see Locke dying as a swerve and that Sayid will actually die. Either that or Locke dying will be a cliffhanger going into next season. Or at least i'm hoping something like that because if they clearly are just going to show characters dying in episode previews i will soon tire of it.

I suspect that next season will NOT focus on Locke & Clair & Sawyer & Hurly etc etc. There are 40+ survivors on the Island and the writers are always throwing in new ones ie: crazy old french woman and ethan etc etc. I'm sure next season will NOT resemble this one...from a character standpoint.

David Fury (one of the main writers) is leaving the show, so that will
affect next year's plots. Also, they'vge promised that the
flashbacks were going to start intermingling more, so we'll learn more
about their shared histories. Plus the preview for the final eps
of the season promises revelations, but we'll see how deep those really
go.

They really are shooting themselves in the foot with all these friggin' reruns. It's hard to build any real momentum or continuity.

Shows are supposed to have "seasons". It has nothing to do with the number of weeks per year. They produce the season in one long session and are supposed to air it in one long session. Yes, there will always be Award shows and Presidential addresses that pre-empt the scheduled broadcasts but, for the most part, the season should remain intact. Talk shows and Soap Operas do it every day of the week...almost all year 'round.

I don't think 24 has shown one repeat this entire season. It certainly hasn't repeated 12 shows like LOST has.

Even though LOST is a hit...it could be even bigger if they simply aired new episodes when people expect to see new episodes. Damn it.

24 started in January so they could run straight through the Winter/Spring. Same with Alias.

24
never had reruns. Instead, they would regularly preempt it with a
completely different show (American Idol, Paris Hilton tapes,

How can you say that? I think hte journeys are as interesting
as the island stuff itself. It's really cool how each character
has their individual story each week in flashback, plus it
occassionally unknowingly intersects with another castaway (Boone and
Sawyer in the police station, Hurly on the tv)

Supposedly the castaways have something(s) in common prior to their plane flight, and we don't know what it is yet.

Tonights show IS a clip show but, it's going to tell all the backstories in a linear fashion AND tie them all together. Additionally....they are going to "reveal some of the backstory of the Island itself".

Last nights episode was pretty good after being gone for so long, the thing i liked most was how they explained what happened to Sayid when he got whacked on the back of the head, I dislike Shannon even more, and I feel that Locke was sort out of characther by running away after Boone got hurt, Jack was kind of a jerk about the whole thing what difference did it make to know that he fell in a plane off a cliff as opposed to just falling off a cliff ,could ther have been that much of a difference in how Jack would have treated him. Finally will Locke tell that he say light coming from the hatch. One more thing bothered me about that drug smuggling plane, It didnt look like a very long distance kind of plane

What's with all the blind rage about Boone dying?!!

They're stranded on a tropical island with murderous strangers, "monsters" and wild boars running around. Boone, WHO HAS ABSOLUTELY NO HUNTING EXPERIENCE, is out there EVERY SINGLE DAY for more than a month, supposedly hunting with Locke...and the rest of the survivors are shocked & enraged when something bad happens to him?! Sure, he wasn't REALLY hunting (he was digging a hole around the mystery hatch) but still....they all THOUGHT he was out there putting himself in danger.

THEN, he gets into an accident. He's injured....fine. Locke picks him up and carries him ON HIS BACK for a mile and brings him to the Doctor to get fixed up. HOW DOES THAT MAKE LOCKE A "MURDERER"?! Why, because he said Boone fell from a cliff instead of saying he fell from the tree tops (in a plane fuselage). He fell. Period. Maybe his leg was crushed by rocks...or crushed by plane cargo...what's the friggin' difference?!

Now Boones sister and Jack are on murderous rampages. WHY?? Locke addressed the group at Boones funeral and said "Boone died trying to save us...he's a hero to us all..he died bravely...etc etc". END OF STORY. I just don't see where all the anger comes from. Now Jack is screaming "WHERE WERE YOU?! WHERE WERE YOU?!?!" over and over and over while punching Locke in the face!! What does that even mean?!

To be fair...Locke is always evasive and cryptic. I honestly don't know why he felt the need to keep the hatch a big secret. Why WOULDN'T he want all 40+ people helping him to open it? Whatever.

Right now, the ONLY reason to blow up at Locke is because he sucker punched Sayid and broke the transceiver. But even still...the rest of the survivors don't have that information yet.

And that's the end of my rant. Donk.

Definitely one of the best episodes all season. Not only did it include suspence, it showed more of the character's sides.

Hell, I'll even go so far as to say some of the scenes were sad. Between Jack and Sawyer talking about Jack's dad, Walt & Shannon where he let her have Vincent to get over her grief of Boone, and Jin & Sun's reconciliation where you finally got to see Jin's true self, they were moving scenes.

I just had one problem with the Walt-Shannon-Vincent scenes. If any of you have had a pet and have either had to give it up or lost it, you know the deep sorrow you felt. I found it to be really awful that in the two scenes involving Walt and Vincent, he didn't show any emotion whatsoever. They should have had him in tears, especially when he was yelling for Vincent to go back to the beach.

Anyway, as for the other part of the show, are we to assume that the Black Rock was some sort of pirate ship? It sure looked ancient from what we saw.

Now Michelle Rodriquez shows up in one of Jack's flashbacks. Why do I have the feeling they wouldn't get a semi-known actress to play a bit part like that if she wasn't going to show up again? Expect to see her alive on the island next week.

I'm sorry, but aside from Leslie blowing himself up, this finale sucked. It gave absolutely no answers to anything and we were promised at least 2 major answers from what I read.

As for the monster, what the fuck was that? Predator?

When Sayid and Charlie found Danielle with the baby and she told them the whispers said they wanted the boy, it was so obvious it was Walt they were referring to, not Claire's baby. As for the "others", WTF? 4 people on a rickety old fishing boat? What answers were given there?

I knew deep down this would end with a wimper, but I held out hope for something concrete going into the off season. These final 2 hours told us absolutely nothing and showed us absolutely nothing.

I was a fan of Alias, JJ Abrams other show. He's
the creator of Lost. I do this out of concern. For the love of God,
ditch the show now. If you are hoping that you will ever get any
answers, you are mistaken. All he's good for is throwing a bunch of
events that make you go "Whoa!" followed by a season finale that
answers nothing and ends with a cliffhanger completely unrelated to
anything that has happened in the prior season, and that goes
absolutely nowhere the next season.

Alias broke my last fucking
nerve tonight. It almost seemed like they put together a decent finale
with at least some answers and some closure. I was even able to stomach
the blatant 28 Days Later ripoff. Then he threw in a fucking impossible
twist that they will not be able legitimately explain.

Trust me. You may be enjoying it now. I really enjoyed Alias for
2 whole years before I got an inkling that it was going nowhere. His
show's can be really enjoyable until you realize at some point that
he's pulling shit out of his ass, just stringing you along. I guarantee
you, there will never be a pay off or a rewarding or comprehensible
explanation of what's going on. If you are think right now that there
is no way they will be able to explaing what's going on, you're right.
Run, while you still can.

HBox, you missing the whole problem with Alias. The main
storyline ended in Season 2, right after the Superbowl. The night
they blew out SD-6 was one of the best episodes of tv ever, but then
they didn't know where to go after that.

As for
the Lost finale... "Dude, you've got some Arnzt on you."
Obviously the reference to the boy was a swerve, but the people on the
island were too concerned with getting Aaron back to think about it,
and the people on the raft had no clue.

And no one said the
Others were a bunch of people on a boat, all we know is that 4 men on a
boat took Walt. We don't know if they are the Others, if they
were sent by the Others or if it was something else entirely.
There was no 15 year old boy with them, so even if they were the
others, there are more others.

It's like 24 in being a gripping drama, that's about it. Lost
season 1 starts with a plane crash and takes place over the course of 1
month. So it's like Gilligan's Island meets Twin Peaks, if GI
were more dramatic. I think Survivor may be a bad comparison
because it isn't as much about these people against each other as it is
about how these people live together and the dramatic tension between
them as these things occur on the island.

Plus every
episode has a series of flashbacks about one character, so we see
things like what brought them to the island or who they were out in the

I wen twith survivor because of the grueling outdoor life on bare essentials they are living on not the cheesy elimination of Survivor but if you wanted to go to the next layer below you could say it is Survivor in as much as they are fighting to survive against the island and just recently they are pretty much eliminating one person per week - Boone, Arstz, the psycho that the Hobbit shot, the guy the psycho guy killed when they didn't turn over Claire, so it is survivor in a way, but instead of going home to good morning america you just die.

How about Land of the Lost meets Gilligans Island meets Twin Peaks

episode is the perfect example of what is wrong with Alias and I will
guarantee its what will happen with Lost. Abrams is only interested in
making the most recent episode as entertaining as possible. He will
sacrifice anything for that, including any long term storylines.

With
that episode, he hit the reset button on the entire series. While that
episode in and of itself kicked ass, it ditched all but one of the
major long term storylines. It came out of nowhere; no set up, just the
major villain in the series was gone all of a sudden. He even admitted
that it wasn't in any plan, he just all of a sudden the idea popped
into his head and he went with it.

And when he does finish
storylines, they're awful. The Rambaldi endgame was zombies, and that
lousy fight on the rooptop was that immense battle they've been hyping
almost since the beginning of the series? Please.

And how the
fuck are they possibly gonna explaing that the number 2 character in
the entire series has been a fraud from the beginning?

Trust me Lost fans, only disappointment awaits you.

I honestly have no problems with cliffhangers. I fully expected there to be some, but as far as I'm concerned absolutely NOTHING was explained this season.

1) The plane crashed. How and why?
2) The survivors. How exactly did they survive a crash like that with minimal injuries?
3) Locke. How can he walk all of a sudden?
4) The monster. What the fuck is it?
5) The transmissions. Where are they coming from?
6) The numbers. What are they really?
7) The hatch. What is it and/or where does it lead?
8) The 'others". Who exactly are they and why did they want Walt?
9) Danielle's party. How did they really die?
10) Danielle's kid? What happened to her?
11) Ethan. Who was he really?
12) Walt. What is his secret power?
13) Claire's psychic. What exactly did he see to freak him out and insist she get on the plane?
14) Power on the island. Where the hell is it coming from?
15? The Black Rock. A pirate ship all the way in the middle of the island? How?

Those are just a few off the top of my head. Do you see my point? Absolutely nothing was explained this season. They could have given a couple of answers. This is just like the fucking Sopranos that start a story and then decide to just forget about explaining it.

I completely agree with every word of KING IMPs post.

This show is strong, the finale was WEAK. There was no closure. No answers. No satisfaction.

As far as I'm concerned, the season went nowhere. It was like hearing an intro to a great song....then hearing a great verse...but then someone turned if off before the chorus. No payoff.

King Imp alot of your questions have either been answered (like questions 5 and 6), some are more then likely for Season 2 such as Question 8 and the one about Walt's powers so to speak and some just aren't important to the characters like how the plane crashed or the injuries that has nothing to really do with the overall story.

Also the monster from what happened in the finale sounds like a mechanical type system you could hear the click's of wheels when the thing grabbed locke not to mention that he had no wound or taring of his pants when it let go of him.

This isn't a one season show, if they answer all the questions what would they do for Season 2 look around for Ginger and the professor?

Well actually 5 and 6 tie into each other.

The numbers were gotten from a crazy person that Hurley met while in an insane asylum. The guy used to repeat them over and over. The numbers were the original broadcast until the French woman changed it to her distress message which went on for the last 16 years. Hurley when he found this out hugged the French woman and knew he wasn't crazy. And i am sure as you already know the numbers were found on the side of the hatch.

As far as where the exact location of the transmission is didn't Said follow the wire to find the source.

Yes, I know the whole story behind the numbers, but what I'm saying is never once has it been explained what they really are. They are obviously the biggest mystery in the show because one of, if not all the numbers come up in very episode. This is one I didn't expect them to reveal, but some of the other lesser ones would have been nice.

I wasn't saying that there won't be injuries in a crash i mean lets be obvious here everyone knows that does not happen, but would a bunch of people with broken limbs make a good show? No, the writers used the convenient Stephen King method: Deus ex Machina - the ghost in the machine (typewriter) to explain it away, and my point is that although improbable the injuries they would sustain is just not germain to the show (although i see your point)

That's just it. Every time I mention these facts about nothing being revealed someone always uses the "why would you want them to reveal all the secrets" line.

I have never once said I want them all revealed.
I guess it is subjective to each of us as to what was really wrapped up.

To quote Locke "Everything has led to the hatch" and that was the story this year, plus there was alot of speculation that they may not be renewed and once they were they added in some of this stuff, believe i dont want to be the reveal all the secrets stuff but it depends on the level that they do it. Would Star Wars been as good if you knew Vader was Luke's father after the first episode?

I agree (with King Imp) that questions need to be answered. Maybe not all....but at least some. Or maybe they SHOULD answer them all and next season they could introduce some new mysteries.

The show just doesn't satisfy. Not ONE plot line on the show has been (satisfactorily) explained.

If nothing else....I wanna know why Locke can not only WALK but, he can RUN, HIKE, & CARRY PEOPLE ON HIS BACK!

If nothing else...I want at least ONE concrete detail about Claire, her baby, and the vision the fortune teller had back when she was pregnant.

Why the hell is Walt so damn important? Didn't he bring a dead bird back to life (or something like that?). I think he was reading a comic book that had a Polar Bear in it...then a Polar Bear somehow appeared on a Tropical Island near the equator. WTF?!

They spent quite a bit of screen time with that somewhat older Black lady who used to isolate herself from the rest of the group. She would sit on the beach and think about her husband. She told Jack that she "knew" her husband wasn't dead and they basically introduced her character as "the oracle" (for lack of a better comparison). What ever happened to her? According to her, there are other Survivors "somewhere" and THEY probably think that Jack and Kate and Sawyer are all dead. Remember?

They spend SOOO much time developing these plotlines. Why even show them if they are not going to get resolved? Does this mean we aren't getting any answers next season either?

I used the "song with no chorus" analogy earlier. But now that I think about it, it feels more like a joke with no punchline. You need the setup AND the payoff in order for it to be funny. In this case, you need the mystery AND the resolution to make it satisfying. See also...every murder mystery or Twilight Zone ever shown on TV.

I was thinking this weekend about the show and Sawyer singing Redemption Song from Bob Marley. I went and listened to the song and call me a conspiracy guy or what and i will ask you to take some leaps of faith with me but the song i think plays a huge role in the show:

First Sawyer singing that song is a little telling since the 3 men on the raft were seeking redemption themselves by going on the raft.

Here are the lyrics to the song and (leap of faith) that Walt has heard the song before

Old pirates, yes, they rob i;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took i
From the bottomless pit. --- Now before the ship with modern day pirates showed up they showed walt asleep dreaming when they turned on the monitor. With what happened with the bird dying and the polar bear could Walt have also summoned these guys to take him or if they are the others did they feed off of his thoughts to manifest them as pirates like in the song?

But my hand was made strong
By the ’and of the almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly. --- Now this could be both Locke and Walt. Locke was made strong by the (leap of faith) hand of god to lead the survivors of the crash and help them get through it. It could also be Walt in that he may have some special power and that he is destined to lead the world into a golden age of peace or some such thing (this is a big guess)

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds. --- These are pretty much the exact words Locke told both Boone and his sister. That the island was a chance to start over free from your old life to make a new person

Have no fear for atomic energy,
’cause none of them can stop the time. --- If the island itself is real could the island have possibly been a WWII testing site and that is what the hatch is?

How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? ooh!
Some say it’s just a part of it:
We’ve got to fulfil de book. --- Again this could be both Boone and Locke. Locke because he is gaining power and control as a sort of shaman over the rest of the people and Jack even told Kate that they would eventually have to deal with the Locke issue. Or again it could mean that Walt is the second coming and that the others will kill him just as the rest of the prophets are killed

Either that or I am too nerdy and should stop thinking about this stupid show

This little story was "unlinkable" so....here it is.

Actress MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ is joining the cast of ABC's Lost this fall. Rodriguez made a brief appearance in part one of the show's season finale as a character named ANA-LUCIA CORTEZ.

She was featured in a flashback scene with character Jack Shepard and viewers learned that she had a seat near the back of the plane that crashed. In the pilot episode, viewers saw the tail section break off before the plane crashed on the mysterious island with Jack and 40 other survivors.

Lost fans believe the addition of Rodriguez to the cast lends credence to the plot rumor that other passengers could have survived and ended up on the island as well.

Right before he died, the character Boone made radio contact with someone who uttered what sounded like "We're the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." Hmmmmm.

Rodriguez's screen credits include roles in The Fast and The Furious, Blue Crush, Resident Evil and S.W.A.T.

By the way, the first season of the hit show will be available on DVD, September 6th.

And in other Lost news, actor JORGE GARCIA, who plays Hurley the loveable tubby guy on the show, has lost about 30 pounds since March. The New York Post reports Garcia shed the pounds with a low-carb diet. He was photographed in Manhattan recently, walking hand-in-hand with gorgeous girlfriend MALIA HANSEN.

I wonder if he lost the weight for the show, or just to lose weight.

They mentioned that he didn't lose any weight during the month on the island, which I don't understand since he would be getting exercise (no Hummers to drive around) and isn't eating any fried foods or other junk food, everything is natural with no artificial preservatives. You'd have to loose some weight no matter how much Fish, Boar and Fruit you ate!

I have to go back and listen to what is said on the other end of that Radio Transmission of Boones.

If they don't end up replaying all of the episodes before the next season begins (and I don't think they will) will someone PM me and let me know where I might be able to find lost episodes? I still holding out hope they'll pull a few marathons or something.

I believe the premiere is 9/9. I'm not good enough at math to figure out any sort of numerical significance, but basically I'll have three days to get the dvd and watch what I missed? That kinda blows.

It better be something REALLY cool in that hatch. I watched the whole 1st season in a couple days, I think it's going to kill me watching the 2nd season 1 hour at a time, from week to week, with repeats and other delays.
There was some interview thing over the summer and Abrams or the
other producer said that had what we see inside the hatch will start a
whole new set of questions that would have been worse had we seen
inside the hatch at the end of the season.

There's
also a rumour that in lieu of giving the actors raises, the show will
end in a "blockbuster" movie - possibly at the end of this
season. Possibly at the end of the third.
