In all honesty, we have 80 percent of the money we needed for the car. We just figured taking out this loan would help her credit out.

Since we have most of the money in hand, we plan to have the loan completed paid off by the end of the year.

Seriously though, there are a few ways to protect the new investment:

Keep the mileage low - if at all possible only take rides a few times a month and on special occasions.

Don't forget to oil and lube. Breakdowns can occur if all areas are not properly maintained.

If you use it, clean it. Nothing worse than an undesirable looking ride. You instinctively want to take better care of something that you find appealing. And others will find it more valuable as well.

All of the above tips apply to your car as well.
