Hello all,

I've been talking to this woman for a couple weeks (met online but we talk on the phone almost everynight). We both want to meet, and we decided that this weekend would be a good time to meet up. Thing is she wants me to pick what we are going to do, and I'm stumped!!! Does anyone have any good ideas as to what we could do? I was thinking of going into Manhattan for the day and just walking aroud, but any help would be appreciated

Both in Queens (I'm in Elmhurst/Jackson Heights area, and she's in Ozone Park)

Seems odd that I have no idea what to do with her, but the reason I ask is that usually I let the woman come up with what to do. It makes her more comfortable with the whole date, plus gives me a little more insight into her, as odd as it may sound. It also make it less likely that I choose something dumb and ends with this first date being the last date

There are some great places to eat on Bleeker Street west of 6th Ave. And that area has some really nice cafes to go to for dessert.

Pick up Time Out New York or New York Magazine and see if there are any cool things going on in the city that day. They have lots of listing of shows and cool events.

Ok...I liked Furies idea about dinner in Little Italy. Alot of good restaurants for a good price.

If the weater is nice maybe do the circle line tour of Manhatten. It takes about 2-3 hours and you can be on a nice boat ride and keep talking to each other.
Then dinner after.
The Bronx Zoo is not a bad idea either.
I liked that you wanted to give the woman the chance at the deicison first.

Why not ask her this.."Name 3 things you either always wanted to do or have not done in a long time in the city and that's what we will do"
Oh yes...and ask her what her favorite food is. That way deciding on dinner will be alot easier.

I saw this on t.v. (forgot what show):
If you haven't met her yet, tell her you'll met her at (fill in the blank). Arrive a little early or be someplace nearby and if you're still interested--take her out. If not, you have called id so just don't answer the phone.

Why don't you go:
1- to the U.S.S. Intrepid or you can ride the "Beast" or do one of those boat dinner/lunch things (it's in the same area).
2. Go to the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island (the only way to get off is the boat---I don't think she'll swim back).
3. visit Ground Zero and support the businesses in the area.
4. visit ToysR-Us Time Square before it closes down.
5. eat at the local Bodega/Restaurant---tell her you're keeping it real and like to be with mi peoples.
6. Dinner and a movie---nothing like keeping it safe.
7. She might not want to do anything you suggest.......so you got to take the bull by the horns and say "We're going here...."

Update (Warning!!! not much exciting things going on here!)

Well today I met up with her at the mall (Queens Center), since she had the day off and I am not working right now. I met her and the first thing that popped in my head was "Damn, that pic she sent me of her doesn't do her justice!" We walked around the mall going to several stores, and jept trying to figure out what to do.

We then leave and walk down Queens Blvd. to the Best Buy and looked around there. We kept talking the whole time whilke she was looking at CD her niece wanted for her birthday. In Best buy I had to tell her how good the purfume she had on smelled, and that put a smile on her face.

After walking around best buy, I offered to take her to lunch, but she said she wasn't hungry. She said lets get in her car and drive around for a bit. She opened the door for me and I got in. As soon as i did, I unlocked her door (so I passed the "Bronx Tale" test). She seemed to like that, but when I handed her a $5 bill for the parking fee, she insisted that she'll get it (but at least I wa nice enough to offer!). We drove around a bit and I mentioned how pretty she was, and that she had amazing eyes (she said she doesn't take compliments well, but she seemed to really like what I was saying). We didn't drive a whole lot, becasue she had to get home and then go pick up her sister from work, so we just drove up and down Queens Blvd, and then she drove me home.

After a small drive around she dropped me off at my house, said she had a great time and would call me tonight (with a real sincere look in her eyes and in her smile). Right now, I can smell her perfume, it's really intoxicating. We diodn't kiss or hug or anything, this was more of the "lets hang out to meet each other in person" type thing, but for some reason I get the feeling maybe more can come out of it (at least I hope!)

Tonight I talked to her for a little bit. She also saw what I wrote in my blog about what happened, and she really liked what I wrote (not to mention she said it was cool to meet me). I asked her if she wanted to get together this weekend (spending the day driving to the Poconos and taking in the fall foliage, while stopping into some of the small store in the area). She didn't say yes, but she didn't say no either. She said she would get back to me because she had to see if her parents needed her around this weekend.

It's sad, i'm 26 and I;m acting like i'm in high school!!! I was worried about this, but my cousin told me that I shouldn't feel bad about this...the opposite sex makes anyone act like an assclown like this, and if you don't you're not human

Hey Pete? I am 34 and girls sometimes still give me the butterflies in my stomach so I would not worry about that.
Sounds nice with the walk in the woods plan. There is an outlet mall in PA right off of Route 80. Can't miss it.
But there are some really awsome areas in NJ to go hiking and walking, if she wants to stay closer to home for the second date, which she might want to.
But sounds like a good idea to me.
Looks like this girl likes you. Take your time with it, don't rush it.
But always let her know you are interested.
P.S. I would go for the kiss on this date, that is the true gauge to see if she is interested in you that way.

speaking of quasi/first meetings reminds me of me going to a home in Newark to meet this girl i met in a dance club. not that night 'if you could believe it' not sure what happened but all i remember is struggling to at least get one article of clothing off of her as we made out. She must've had the clothes sewn to her body because i wound up physically exhausted and she still had all her clothes on...

1. well, I emailed her about going out again, she never responded.

2. I called her on the phone, I'm sick of talking to her voicemail and her not getting back to me

3. I haven't seen her on AIM lately, and the last time I did talk to her, I asked her about going out again, and she said she would get back to me about it...see #s 1 and 2

figure the fuck out how well it's going....and if she wants to hang out, she's got my number....like i said, I'm sick of talking to voicemail, but she better have a damn good reason why she's blowing me off.

This is what pisses me off about some women, if they don't want anything to do with you...JUST SAY SOMETHING!!!! She claims to hold honesty important in any relationship, as I do, but yet she pulls this crap on me

Forget that girl, there are other woman out there. If she does manage to call you back...don't do jumping jacks.....take it slow and see if you weren't just the flava at the moment.

I went out with a girl that I've known for awhile from working in the same building, we even went to the company Christmas party together (I remember asking her on the elevator). It was going along well but then one night while I was dropping her home she started asking questions like how much I make and stuff. That was a BIG turnoff for me and eventually we stoped seeing each other. DAMN but could she move.....I mean on the dancefloor. ;)

figure the fuck out how well it's going....and if she wants to hang out, she's got my number....like i said, I'm sick of talking to voicemail, but she better have a damn good reason why she's blowing me off.

Perhaps this unnecessary anger has something to do with it. Does she owe you something? Am I wrong or did you hang out with this chick like, twice? Sometimes shit don't work out. You gotta figure out how to deal with it a little better. There's other fish online for you to wrangle.
